Pretty cool!

Bionic Hunter could be a hidden gem. The world design is the best part, in my opinion. The graphics are realistic and well-textured, the music is rad, combat is mostly smooth (I have some confusion regarding reloading, which I'll get to in a bit), and the immersion is strong. I've paid more for less for other FPS titles. There are a few small changes that could be addressed. Some areas for improvement: - there are simply too many words on the screen, which really reduces immersion. Is there a setting to eliminate those? While you're at it, is there a way to eliminate the numerical scores that pop up once one has killed an enemy? Those don't necessarily affect gameplay as much, but they reduce immersion and realism nonetheless. In any case, please include a setting to reduce or eliminate all the onscreen prompts and kill scores. - I don't understand reloading. What actually reloads the gun? Pressing the B button, or collecting ammunition? Where does the collected ammunition go? Does it fully reload all guns, or just one type? What does "ready to reload" (or whatever it says) mean? A tutorial here would be helpful. - minor aesthetics: the screen contrast seems to be very low in general, and then seems to get even lower at times. The blacks need to be darker in general; the worlds have a slightly faded grey appearance. Also, I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a day/night pattern, but there are times at which my screen seems to randomly fog/grey out to the point that I can't really see anything. It's very disorienting and doesn't seem intentional. Overall, this is a really fun game and it's clear that the highly responsive devs are dedicated to making something that they're proud of. A few small tweaks would put it into the top echelon of FPS games.

I tried Shock Troops first and thought it was okay. Clearly an homage to Castle Wolfenstein. But Bionic Hunter is Quake (which I preferred). Not exactly scary (except sometimes the monsters sneak up behind you and the big ones are BIG) and the environments are nothing special and a bit repetitive, but man, those monsters look beautiful. As others have said there are missions to keep it from being just repetitive wave shooting and I hope more are added. I agree with the comments that the pop-up messages are annoying. Even though there is an option to disable them some still come through and are very obtrusive. I don't need to be reminded 20 times that I have to repair two more satellites, thanks! I am truly in awe that only one guy was able to put out such a good game, and I agree it belongs on the official store! Response to dev: Awesome! Can't wait to check out the new stuff. Keep up the really great work!

Better than Doom itself?

Bionic Hunter: The Ancient Sword is one of the most polished and thoughtfully designed games on the Meta standalone platform. It blends fluid gameplay with clever mechanics and throws you into missions that stay fresh—whether you're destroying generators, hunting down enemies, or tracking a legendary sword. The enemies are wonderfully grotesque, each with their own look and strategy, making every encounter feel distinct. You can tell the studio poured love into this game—every detail feels carefully crafted, from mission variety to visual design. It plays and looks closer to a PCVR title than most standalone games. If you're looking for something original, smart, and engaging, Bionic Hunter delivers. Can’t wait to see what this dev team releases next!

WOWSERS!!

This game really surprised me. Should DEFINITELY be on the main store, and it’s i crime that it isn’t. It’s more polished than 90% of the FPS on the main quest store. Trust the reviews. BUY IT. Some of the most fun I’ve had yet in VR. Is there a sequel in the works by any chance?

Fantastic Wave Shooter

Video Review - https://youtu.be/SpR2MRv9QQI Bionic Hunter : The Ancient Sword a game where your sent to an Alien planet with the task to survive waves, so yes this is a wave shooter at its heart but its been given a lot of love to make it feel like so much more. Speaking literally first is well ME yes I volunteered to record some lines for this game earlier this year so you get to hear me, I am not going to judge my own voice acting but I will say that having spoken lines makes the game feel a lot more polished and immersive to engage yourself into the situation. The game also has full smooth locomotion options including turn speed so its very adaptable to your playstyle and feels great to move around. The game doesn't stop there though, Bionic Hunter has a huge cast of very creepy looking aliens that look straight out of Doom or an Alien horror movies from the 80s. Lots of creepy walking animations, and a huge scale which can really look terrifying up close. On top of the Aliens though we can collect the souls of fallen monsters after a mission involving finding and repairing Satellite's. Once we get 10 souls we can trade them in and call for a robot ally to come and kick some serious Alien butt! Having the extra help adds a lot to the experience for me and I love seeing the robot swing the sword and let me catch my breath. Bionic Hunter is a fantastic game at a low price point with a lot to play with and be excited about. The wide variety of weapons and abilities gives you the chance to swap your play style constantly to avoid being bored and all the monsters keep it exciting to keep progressing and see what is unleashed on you. I am very excited to have my voice in the game which definitely adds to my personal enjoyment but as a game its just one that is very easy to pick up and play and have a good time.
