Visit Chernobyl without leaving home!

Chernobyl VR Project combines video game mechanics with the educational and movie narrative approach.

It is the very first virtual tour around the Chernobyl area. Chernobyl VR Project uses a state-of-the-art graphics solutions, such as advanced 3D scans of locations and buildings, spherical photography, stereoscopic videos and augmented reality.

Chernobyl VR Project is not only a story of an abandoned place, but it is even more about the people. The Farm 51 aimed to reach survivors for whom the disaster had an intimate and sometimes family aspect.

The Farm 51 is donating part of the proceeds from the sales of the Chernobyl VR Project to foundations helping the victims of the disaster in Ukraine. In doing so we hope that we contribute this cause and that the initiative will give our project another social dimension.

Pretty good

Nice environment and idea. Some little bugs and the audio could be better. But this is really interesting. Maybe a little expensive for what you get, but it is worth a try.

It could be better, needs to expand

I was interested in this because I started watching HBO Chernobyl. The VR experience gives you the opportunity to walk around a flat, hospital, and other locations. Walking around is limited to the areas and it's just a point and walk with your remote. There is clips of past, and clips of the current conditions. Interviews with the residents are so interesting because it was run by the Soviet union. The VR experience is buggy at times and you can go thru the whole experience in under and hour. This could be better, I would have liked to have ability to walk around more, more interviews from people, a map, a history of the Soviet union, more information on how it exploded, more information on fire fighters.

This Is Not A Game

Ever since I saw the "Life After People" episode that talked about the Chernobyl disaster on the History Channel, I have wondered what it would be like to tour the ruins of Pripyat. Now I have an alternative opportunity, and I don't need to go to the Ukraine to do it. I love the narrator's voice. I was able to use my SteelSeries Stratus XL gaming controller to turn around. Some of the levels let you walk around, too, while other levels feature 360 degree 3D pictures. Both are fascinating. I really do feel like I was given a tour of a place that time forgot. I wish there would be more apps of more forbidden, dangerous places that we could visit virtually. The only thing I can think of that might improve the experience would be more varied, realistic wind sounds for the outside levels and optional subtitles. But other than those two minor suggestions, this app is incredible. I've already spent over an hour altogether visiting each and every level. Thank you so very much.

No radiation

Loved the experience I've always wanted to see this area but there was no radiation sickness or after effects so no 5 stars
