This game is tons of fun

I’ve played this game on my Xbox, and I know there is tons to do on this game. The look of the game reminds me very much of Doom. I was excited to see this game on App Lab, and snagged it up fast, mainly because I already know to expect a lot of fun killing things the way I wanted since this apocalypse started. The acting is horrible, but the game is great. If your looking for a lot of blood and guts. This is a title to grab. Have to also mention the two handed weapons are probably the worst I’ve ever seen. They fire fine, but your hands don’t actually grab onto anything, which in turn makes for a hand that is holding a weapon, but like toggles onto it, and can slide it around for no reason at all. I also had a massive issue in the middle of a fight, where the game randomly changed my controls to grab ammo, and then that hand just stopped working for anything. This game has been out for well over 5 years, and sadly nothing has been fixed. I own this game on Steam as well. Nothing has been fixed at all. With this title being just added to App lab I’m really hoping things get fixed fast. I do really enjoy this title. Good RPG elements in there, but controls being switched in the middle of a fight, and your hands locking in place on a gun to the point you need to click again to let go, even though I have my grips in options set to realistically pick up things. Your hand is locked on your gun, but have to unlock it just to try and reload. Great game for VR and welcome to App lab. Hope to see more fixes in some future updates. Other then a few issues this game offers a ton of content for a great price. Strongly recommend it. The content in this game is impressive. There is tons to do for a low price. More options need to be added to make the picture of old touch controls in my hand instead of the ones I’m using. Bow and arrow works awesome, and melee weapons are crazy fun. This game has potential to be one of the longest games in VR. It needs a lot of fine tuning. I definitely tell anyone looking for amazing zombie/ Doom style. I really think that most people in VR tend to see just how much the player can interact with NPCs. Well while they are talking to you. You can poke them and bug them. They actually hit your hands away. I thought that was a funny thing to do in VR, and was actually surprised when they reacted. Please keep up the good work on this title. It needs some serious attention, but does play very well as is.

Space Action RPG

Dead Effect 2 VR is primarily a role-playing game. At the game's outset, you choose between three different characters with varying abilities. As the action unfolds, you're thrust into a single-player campaign set in a semi-destroyed spaceship, tasked with completing simple missions to progress. This ranges from rescuing survivors to fixing issues with the ship's oxygen systems. With over 30 weapons at your disposal, you can navigate your way through the ruined spaceship. From pistols to shotguns, plasma rifles, bows, swords, hammers, grenades, and sniper rifles – all weapons are not only upgradeable but also available at different levels.

Very solid game.

I just wish the screenshots and trailer were actually representative of the game on Quest. While it looks good it doesn't look nearly as good as these, which appear to be footage of the PC version. Other than that the controls and UI could require some extra polishing. The main menu is a small plate to ground the player, but then you need to face one of its corners which feels unintuitive and make it feel like the UI is offset. The conversation UI is next to the characters in a position that makes it awkward to interact with, the in game menu is too close and somewhere close to my stomach so I need to search for it first and the leveling and skill tree UI is too big. The in game UI to interact with to open doors and such is not very clear on what to interact with (found the sliders with trial and error and the numbers where actually a 14 and not a 1 and a 4 as the vertical alignment implied). Weapons should probably let your second hand go if you move it too far away, trying to pick up ammo when you are already full does not provide any feedback, using Y and B as the "menu button" does not really fit the platform. Also at some point I was suddenly very small. Unfortunately the movement is very smooth, accelerating in and out of walking making me a bit motion sick. Beyond all these things the game plays well, is fun, appears to have LOTS of content and I would absolutely expect it on the main store. Sadly the multiplayer (that exists in the steam version) is missing in this. I'll gladly give more stars if the screenshots get updated to show what the game really looks like on the quest.

My favorite game so far and a must play

I was looking for a game for my Quest 3 that I would enjoy. I have bought many lately and some were good, but none that gave me the experience like Halo, Doom 2, Dead Space, or Star Craft gave me the first time I played it. Well, I think this is the one. So far, I like everything about it. It is an awesome experience playing this in VR. The graphics, although not as good as Red Matter 2, still, it is "very good" and enjoyable. This Game is a Must Play. I love space marine style FPS games and this is all that. What is so disturbing is that it was so hard to find. It does not show up in the Meta Quest store unless you know the name and type it in to search. Also, reviewers who post on "you tube" passed this by or missed it somehow. This game needs to be experience. So, Developers, you need to get this game more face time, or advertisement so people won't have such a hard time finding it. Kudos to the developers of this game, well done. Another note, I also love that this is not a short game like the Vader episodes. It has depth and love the level up system for your character and equipment. Also, I have not experienced any bugs or discomfort issues in the 10+ hours I played it so far.

RPG Zombie Shooter- A++

I’ve played this series in the mobile incarnation and have always thought it was at the top of that category. So of course I was super excited when I found this in the app lab! One of the few games I’ve bought immediately. If you’re looking for a LOADED single player experience, I cannot recommend this enough. I’ve often wondered how they fit everything into this game. There’s the campaign, which is divided into sections. I’m halfway through pt. 2 and have already put in probably 10 hours. Part 1 was like 12 or 15 stages. There’s a dedicated side quest menu. There’s lone wolf missions. There’s survival missions. There’s wave missions…. There’s just so much to do it’s unbelievable that it’s a native oculus title. Now let’s talk about the RPG elements. You’ve got upgradable weapons and armor pieces. You’ve got upgradable attachments for all those as well. You’ve got upgradable skills. You’ve got upgradable and unlockable abilities. You’re constantly finding better weapons and gear as you play… it’s just ridiculous the amount of RPG elements in this and people don’t mention it when looking for RPG titles (which is severely lacking on the native oculus). Absolutely the best $20 bucks I’ve spent on a game this far. I’ve got probably 30 games. This is one of the 4 I’m constantly coming back to. If you’re looking for the most underrated title in the App Store, you’ve found it! If I had to find one grievance I’d have to say the melee combat could feel better. If you’re on the fence, I guarantee you will not be disappointed in this game. Until a true RPG title is released, this scratches the itch nicely and shows what’s possible. Combine that with zombie killin’…. C’mon man!
