Good game but

This game is difficult but is still fun my reason for only three stars is in my opinion they have not got the movement down yet it is very jerky specifically around the net when playing from the back movement is fine but around the net the movement is disorienting to where I can't even hit the ball even the slightest movement will throw you off I still enjoy playing this game but hopefully the movement gets better... Changed my rating thanks for the info net play is so much easier now that I understand how to work the settings

Promising with Room to Grow

I’ve been using this for a while now, and overall, it’s been a great experience. The physics are good, which makes it feel pretty close to the real thing. The drills are good too – they’re my main focus when using the app. That said, I’d love to see more advanced drills added. It’s also fun to play with bots, though it takes a bit of getting used to. I do wish I could run drills with the bots too – that’d be a game-changer. On the downside, the ball can be a little unpredictable. A light touch sometimes sends it flying, and when I try to be gentle, it can drop into the net. Drives also feel a bit off, in real life my drives are decent, but in the game, they either hit the net or go way out. That said, I think this app is on the right path. With more updates, it could be truly great. My friends who play pickleball in real life are picking up the app to sharpen their skills, and like me, they’re hoping for more advanced drills and bot features. Fingers crossed for future updates!

Most realistic pickleball game

This is an excellent simulation of real-life pickleball. It is not a video game, so if you want a Wii-like game, this is not the game for you. For context, I am a 4.5 player and it is realistic and fun enough that I use this game almost every day to practice or warm up for real life games. I spend about 30% of my time in the ball machine where I can create any shot imaginable (spin, angle, speed, variation), about 20% in various game created drills, and about 50% playing bots. (I'm probably an aberration though. Most people will probably spend almost all of their time playing bots or other people in multiplayer games.) I have had this game since it was in beta, and it has improved by leaps and bounds and continues to improve (more drills, more options for gameplay etc.)

Extremely fun with free locomotion!

I live in a small town in southern Italy with just one pickleball court (it's basically lines painted over a tennis court) and zero local pickleball culture or passion – which is a shame because I think the sport's an absolute blast. I rented the court with my VR headset and played for an hour against bots using free locomotion, aligning the mixed-reality court lines with the real ones: it was a blast! That said, I ran into two issues. First, after every single game, the court lines automatically shift and I have to recenter them. Getting it precise isn't easy and it eats up time. Second, in real life, I only play with folks who hardly know the rules, so I always win. Here? Even the Gold Bot (level 60) beat me – and this was my first try! But here's what really drives me nuts: the bot never moves up to the net after returning serve. I have no idea why it's programmed that way – it's just not realistic. Because the bot stays back, there's zero pressure on my third shot drop. I get all the time in the world to move up, and then it finally comes forward too. Worse, during net play, the bot never once tries to hit a passing shot. It just lives in the kitchen dinking or volleying – again, totally unrealistic. And get this: the bot only hits drives on the return of serve. After that? It's all dinks, all the time. If they could fix these bot behaviors, this game would be a game-changer for practice. Even if you don't love the physics, it's an insane cardio workout and fantastic for sharpening your net reflexes. I use an adapter (though the controller is actually heavier than a real paddle), and I only notice two physics quirks: shots tend to float upward even when I swing flat and level, and I can't seem to put any spin on the ball. Still, I'd seriously recommend this experience on a real court to anyone – especially if, like me, you don't have real opponents to play with.

Pickleball!

The game is fun and physics are pretty good. Not as top-notch as their ping-pong game but still pretty good. They recently added smaller courts for people with smaller play spaces. This is nice and pretty much adds a different mode to the game as you have to change your play style for the smaller court, more precision. Does not seem like many people on online, so it's mostly about the offline play. You can play singles or doubles, and has all the common drills you would like. It has a few different maps to play on. Also, a few different modes for MR depending on your play space. If playing outside or in a large open space, you can go full court with real movement. I haven't tried that yet, but might be something cool to take my headset outside and give it a spin. Overall, for what it is, it's fun. It could use a few tweaks, as based on the new update released last week it seems like this game is still getting updates, so who knows what the future will hold for this game.
