I don’t even know where to begin. I’m new to the VR world so everything I have tried is an entirely new experience. What caught my eye to Float VR was the mention of ADHD. At times my brain feels like a TV set and someone else has the remote just clicking away. The first time I used Float VR it was as if someone pushed the pause button and just let me drift into this wonderfully calm space. All negativity, anxiety or worrying just drifted away. I’m not usually one to pay attention to shapes and textures but you become immersed in this world that’s nothing but. I’ve never been able to meditate due to the ADHD. My mind is too busy but this has changed all that. When I have a Float VR session I’m completely relaxed and in a zen state. I can’t thank you enough for this.

I purchased this in order so help retrain my nervous system to leave flight or fight mode from PTSD. While the PTSD had been in remission mentally for quite some time, the body tension it created that then became normal still remains. I have used sensory deprivation float tanks in the past with moderate improvement in symptoms. I am using this is a similar fashion. One good problem to have is that I almost always fall asleep in a few minutes of starting the float! I have not yet tested my sleep quality since starting it, but I have cut my sleep medicine dosage in half with success since starting to float. I recommend giving this a try if forced relaxing is what you need.

I admire what they’re trying to do, but after a couple of sessions it felt like something I would have seen around the turn of the century. The music has clunky transitions that regularly snapped me out of my flow state, quite a few of the various sprites in the tunnel were clearly designed to conserve processing power… even the title screen and main menu need work, looking pixelated and dated. To make things even worse, in order to unlock the “free” version, you have to enter your email, and of course they start sending you stuff without asking if it’s OK to start sending you stuff. I’d love to support a clearly indie creator, but even the free version ain’t worth the price.

Very few environments and little content, the main point is to sell subscriptions and gather email addresses just to reveal the price. (dirty business practice) With as little and static content as this, I find it almost ridiculous to ask for subscription, but of course, everyone wants a free regular income, preferably forgotten by the subscriber, and with little and unimpressive content like this, being forgotten is kind of granted. There are several MUCH better alternatives,that offer much more for less.

I absolutely love this app. It's like having many dark rides to ride. Whether you are in the mood for flying through psychedelic light tunnels at top speed, or gliding through a fantasy, rocky world, or diving the depths of a fantasy ocean, this program has it all. It is great for meditation. The music and the scenery blend perfectly together. There is nothing for you to do. No special breathing, and no possibility for failure. Just enjoy. Many of the features are free. I used the free version for a long time before getting the lifetime subscription option ( I hate reoccurring subscriptions. There is an option to pay once and that's it). It was well worth it as it opened up all of the different customization options. They seem to be active in adding new content and that is exciting.
