THE 'FORMATION' EXPERIENCE
'Formation' is a VR game where you pilot a powerful combat aircraft as part of a revered formation squadron. Set in the far future, Formation features a unique core-gameplay experience that focusses on intense formation flying.
THE BULLSHARKS
Decades ago, war ravaged the planet. Driven back in to the sea, the forces of the Allied Planetary Defence were facing defeat. In a last-ditch effort one of the few remaining air units — the Bullsharks — almost singlehandedly turned the tide of war.
For those too young to remember the war, the 7th serve a new purpose. In an age of peace, the once deadly machines of a century-old conflict now serve to inspire budding engineers and pilots as they thunder through the skies above Ocea.
WELCOME, PILOT
First things first, you'll need to get your head around the FORMHUD system which will keep you synchronized with your squad. Commander Burns himself is expecting you for basic flight training at 0600 hours.

This could be one of the BEST vr versions of Ace Combat, but first it needs to fix a few things. First for the game mechanics, it needs to rework the control system. I dont want to be sitting still while the game has me leaning all over the place whenever I slightly touch the oversensitve joystick. Secondly, I need to be able to move my virtual hands so that I get a sense of realism and a feeling for where that joystick actually is. Now onto some in game details. Yall gotta use voice actors instead of AI for in game characters. Yall already have AI generated images, and thats more than enough. Secondly (and this one is just my personal beliefs), I dont entirely know how I feel about flying a jet thats a cross between an F-22, and F-15, an F-14, and a Su-30. I know nothing about modeling, but I believe jets based on existing aircraft would be much more immersive. Other than that, its a great game that I'd love to play and look forward to the final release

I would guess many of the lower ratings are from people who quit before getting through the initial tutorial. The controls are a bit hard to master, and admittedly a bit frustrating at first, but they get easier as you practice. Once you get the controls down, the game actually becomes pretty chill. I could see playing this to de-stress after a long day. That being said, the controls do present a bit of a learning curve. The game is in “Easy” mode for Early Access, but it feels more like a “Hard” mode. I’d be curious to try a version where the vertical axis input is disabled for aileron rolls, and the horizontal axis is disabled for full loops. The music and sound effects are great. They create a sci-fi ambiance that feels something like being immersed in Juno Reactor’s “Rotorblade”. Listening to the music may be my favorite part of the game. Looking forward to playing the full version!

I was surprised to see so many 1 star , this game is great I'll have to admit that at first it got me dizzy,but then I took a break a day later after a few tries it was normal and flying feels natural to me you can do fun flying tricks calculation on moves based on speeds and your potential to see I highly recommend this game, certainly has potential to be the best and to encourage other VR games to be made that are very similar in this way.

I was fighter pilot and the whole diamond in hud was ridiculous as it does not work. I can pass the diamond in the hud part, but only after several tries. There is too much guessing on when to move the diamond- mostly too soon or too late. Once get to actually try the roll, within 2 seconds ot says fail with no explanation as to why. Sorry, but after 30 minutes, I stopped and deleted game. **** In reply to developer question: No option to reply to your answer but I flew FA-18s.

Hey devs just wanna say I love the game but I have one problem with the demo I can't get past step 5 the continue button just doesn't appear which is shame because this game looks so fun Could you please help me resolve this issue (Edit sorry devs turns out I'm a bit of a dingus and wasn't doing it properly but played through the rest of the demo with no issues controller were a learning curve but got there in the end will definitely be buying the full version ASAP) :)
