Ion Arcades brings the excitement of flying your spaceship in your environment. If you enjoy drones or RC planes, you’ll feel right at home using your controllers to fly your ship through asteroid fields and space stations, dodging traps, and competing against other players in intense Last Man Standing online multiplayer battles.

Don’t do it

The single player is 2 empty tutorials with minimal gameplay. There’s no way to even know what the main multiplayer game is like, as you can’t try it single-player, and there are no other players online. The fact that you have to purchase game currency to play the multiplayer game is ludicrous for an app that costs money. Feels like a con. Avoid.

The is game is something else!

The controls are smooth, the gameplay is polished, and the graphics even in mixed reality is incredible! This game exceeded my expectations tenfold. Although I'm not a pilot of any sort, any will enjoy the controls of flying a ship within their home.

Concerning microtransation model

Unfortunately this basically has no single player content, fun for 15mins if you would like to fly a drone around your room. Multiplayer seems to require real money, I'm not appreciating questionable mobile style monetisation practices showing up on Quest. 3 stars simply because of the sale price, could be fun if they focused on making a game rather than a monetisation framework.

Great start to a Spatial Asteroids

I love that this is mixed reality and I can see the asteroids floating in my room. You really have to think about the controls at first, but it does become second nature after a while. Multiplayer is fun, I just really wish there was more single player content. If they add that, I'll happily bump it up another star.
