It's missing one thing.

This game is great,it's missing one thing, though. I would really appreciate the smooth locomotion option. I've been playing VR since Quest1,and I've never had an appreciation for telaportation. I've never had motion sickness,so I prefer the smooth locomotion setting,it's just more immersive.

WHAT THE OTHER REVIEWS WON'T TELL YOU!

Mudrunner is a fun hard trucking simulation in a muddy, mostly forest environment that enables you to drive a lot of different types of trucks and perform IRL different tasks (e.g. delivering logs). I’ve completed the story mode (most Quest gamers haven’t) and I recommend the game if you like driving but trying something different and like simulating IRL actions such as turning handles in VR etc. But here’s some important facts ... 1. There are two game modes (A) Story: which is interesting/excellent, this consist of 11 sequential chapters, each chapter has it’s own map, objectives and several vehicles to be utilised that may be different from the previous chapter(s). The story is conveyed by a single character voice-over during the chapter loading screen, and the messages you receive on your vehicle tablet from your uncle during the chapter. 2. (B.) Freeroam : you scroll through each of the different locations of story mode and select one to play. It will randomly serve up different tasks (e.g. haul two non-functioning cars back to the designated spot) 3. The environments are immersive, but the graphics are basic and have a low framerate that feels jittery (I played on Quest 3). I recommend you don’t use the right stick to turn, as this increases the issue. Instead, play in an office chair so you can use your feet to swivel/turn left/right when walking outside your truck. 4. This is not just a driving from point a to b. A lot of the fun is all the IRL physical interactions, e.g. open the truck door with the handle, walk to the front, grab the winch, etc 5. It's a difficult game (e.g. backing a truck with little room to maneuver) and slow paced (e.g. road speed is 20 to 30 miles/hour and muddy sections 5m/h). At time of writing, the story mode Quest Achievement ‘Heading to Tow’ was unlocked in the 1st chapter by 20k gamers, but only 3k gamers unlocked the 'Halfway There'. I assume gamers swapped over to Freeroam mode to play the bite sized tasks on any map.

MudRunner VR is Why I Escaped to PSVR2

My Meta Quest 3 is nothing more than an expensive paperweight. The store is a digital landfill, overflowing with the VR equivalent of fast food, quick, greasy, and ultimately unsatisfying. Grid Legends? A prime example of the shovelware plague. It's like they slapped a VR sticker on a 1995's PlayStation 1 game and called it a day. I was done. Absolutely done. Then, MudRunner VR happened. This game is the ONLY reason my Quest 3 was repurposed as a doorstop. It's a brutal, unforgiving, and utterly nothingness simulation. MudRunner VR exposes the Quest 3's dirty little secret the overwhelming majority of its library is utter garbage. This game's are straight bio sludge, buried in a mountain of digital trash. I'm sick of wading through this swamp of bio. I want real VR experiences, the kind that make you forget you're wearing a headset. I want depth, complexity, and replayability like IO's psvr2's new Hitman VR upgrade That's why I'm done with the Quest 3 and on to the PSVR2. Yes, it has a wire. But it also has actual games. Horizon Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil Village VR Gran Turismo 7, no man's sky, these are the experiences I craved. These are the games that make VR worth it. But the biggest reason I've retired my Q3 is the amount of lies is beyond unfathomable GTA's San Andreas postponement indefinitely was the final nail in the coffin. Ps. My opinion is mine & mine alone, not swayed by public opinion, shady companies, corrupt governments or paid by sponsor YouTubers. You can’t sway me, lie to me, or bribe me. I believe what I see, not what I’m told.

Fun

Like the game my only complaints is I wish I could adjust the in game seat and with you could walk around instead of teleporting to where you are going. Other than that it’s a good game.

Time to get muddy again!!!😜

As a huge fan of all the flat screen versions of these games, I've always thought that this would make an amazing port to VR.....and god, was i right!!! I am absolutely hooked on this game, and I am currently loving everything about it. I just hope that the devs listen to the players and introduce smooth locomotion. The only other thing i personally would like to see is the players characters body to make it even more immersive. I hope Sabre keeps up the good work and hopefully release further add-ons and new locations......Highly recommended 👍🏻 👌🏻
