Update 0.9.8 just wow!

With the latest update the game has received a very solid polish pass over the entire game as well as adding new content. Since launching on app lab the game has only got better and better, with the latest maps really maturing in design. For newcomers be warned this game does has a steep learning curve, but it is short and well worth the time invested to get a feel of the controls. Best played in a comfy chair with the Quest 2 controllers rested on your leg/knee and treated like a HOTAS. Keep your vision focused on the upcoming track turns, and after getting comfortable with the sensitivity of the controls you won’t flip much until you really start to push lap times. With the latest update there are now sensitivity options which make finding a good balance easy. The soundtrack, visuals and design are top notch for Quest 2 racing games on the platform, both app lab and the main store. If you want a good value for money game where you can play for dozens of hours then this game will satisfy you. This really isn’t an “experience” VR app and a fully fledge game. The gameplay loop of improving your times and racing against other players around your pace really keeps you in the headset. I have completely lost hours in this game when playing plugged into power. The game ‘s soundtrack really really slaps, but it is also a great game to play with the music off while listening to podcasts. Hopefully Meta take note of this game and promote it to the main store, racing fans are missing out on this Quest 2 hidden gem!

I want to love this so badly…but I can't

I was so excited when I saw this game on the store. I’m new to VR but I’ve been a zero-g racer since my PS one days with Wipeout, and my Xbox 360 days with quantum redshift. I was so excited when I saw this game. The aesthetic and the vehicles look amazing. There is a good tutorial which shows you how to calibrate your position and what the buttons do. Then there are lessons and exams to get you ready to race…. And that’s where it all goes wrong. As with so many other reviewers I have been plagued with control issues, mainly when using the tutorial levels. I’m a gamer and I have a very steady hand but I cannot make the ship go in a straight line in the tutorials. No matter how many times I calibrate, reposition, or adjust the sensitivity it feels that as soon as I press the “grab” button which allows you to steer the ship my craft goes off in wild directions. I was willing to invest the time to learn how to fly the ship and to learn the mechanics of the game. I thought the price was fair. I even hoped the other reviewers were simply lacking in fine motor control, but no. I hope the developers can repair the steering mechanic, until then this app is getting uninstalled. The best quest racing game so far!

Pros: -Beautiful graphics. -Unique control, the most convenient in my opinion -Game conveys a good sense of speed Cons: -The game is quite difficult -Although the controls are comfortable, it takes some getting used to. But once you get the hang of it, the game is awesome.

Wow this game is awesome!

I used to play wipeout and waiting for something similar but in vr and for the quest headset, and here it is, very enjoyable game! First I read the reviews and thought I'm not getting this, the controls are bad, then today I bought it (my plan was to refund it if it's that bad) and wow it's a great game! Yes you need to practice, but after my let's say 10th try I finished first place on the first 3 tracks,so just keep practicing! Thank you for this awesome game!

In a league of its own

Im flying up a long stretch of tunnel into the sky. My speed picks up as the tunnel gets narrower and narrower. I reach the end as it ejects me into the clouds. Speechless.. I'm only 10 maps deep (out of 30+) into this game and I'm already blown away by this game. The map design is absolutely incredible. Controls are super intuitive. Racing is fast pace, challenging and truly unique. Asynchronous multiplayer works great and assures I can race anytime without worrying about queue times. With all that being said, controls and the racing itself will definitely take time to master. But will be 100% worth the effort. Also if you're prone to motion sickness this probably isnt for you. I personally havent had issues with motion sickness so far. It runs super smooth on quest 2. While the graphics arent the best, the map design more than makes up for it. And tbh my attention was so focused on racing that graphic quality hardly mattered to me. Music is solid but sound design could use a bit of improvement on things like braking and acceleration. There is nothing like this on the quest. I can confidently say its the best racing or flying experience I've had in VR on any platform, period.
