After a lab test gone wrong giant ants, a protist and even fungi are taking over the city and it’s on you to use science to your advantage and clean up the whole mess before anyone notices. On your adventure, you’re joined by STEVE, the lab’s AI assistant, and will be the first to try out his newest invention, Shrink-o-gen. Scanning and scaling your way through the environment over the course of 4 missions, you’ll learn about the different rules that apply to each realm - molecular, bacterial, insect, human, and mountain.

In addition to the base game, there’s also a Multiplayer Theater where you can watch your favorite 2D Kurzgesagt videos in a whole new way with friends. And in case that’s not enough - you can even bring objects and creatures you collected in-game to life in the comfort of your own home via the Mixed Reality Sandbox.

Needs some polishing and bugfixing

First - I'd release a hotfix asap to make gathering ants pheromones more obvious. I spent like 20 minutes trying to gather it, and straight up gave up and quit the game. I've tried so many things flying with duck to gather pheromones, pointing with laser at everything I could. It's really easy to miss the spot you should point at to gather it, and it's hardly visible you're gathering it. I'd also advise a lot of playtesting and checking where players get stuck for stupid reasons. It's pretty heavily scripted, it would be cool if there was more freedom during the mission, but it's a pretty cool experience overall.

Two problems but both significant

I only had two problems while playing this game but both are pretty severe. The loading time in between switching sizes is a good ten seconds or more. It may not seem like much but when you just have sit there waiting, you quickly want it to hurry up, hurry up, hurry up. currently, there is no way to skip it. This needs to be fixed in some way, either have an option to turn it off or a button to skip, I don’t care just fix it please. Secondly, there is a lot going on in each size for whatever mission you’re doing. If you don’t understand what to do you can get stuck super easily. Some sort of hint mechanism would be helpful and very appreciated.

This game is great

I’m gonna write an honest review because everything else is either”great game” or “bad game” Graphics and graphics style 10/10 Story 8/10 Glitches 9/10 Narration 10/10 Replayability 8/10 Graphics and graphics style. Graphics are great no glitches in them at all, looks just like the videos. Story. Story is pretty good it is short and sweet. However last mission is about 10 seconds long or so. Glitches. I only encountered 1 glitch so good job devs Narration. Oh man his voice is awesome love the narration Replayability. You can replay the story if you want but there’s also 21 videos of his you can watch with friends in a cool theatre wich I like This game is great if anyone likes kurzgegast in a nutshell then they will love this.

Needs improvement

I love kurzgesagt videos so I bought this game mainly to support them but WOW, this game is quite an exercise in frustration. First, the walkthrough available online needs to be improved. It didn’t mention that the tiny duck needed to be scanned at the beginning of the Protist mission. Second, there needs to be some sort of timer where bigger and bigger hints as to what needs to be scanned become visible. Third, shorter loading times between realms. Fourth, when collecting X items for shrinkogen, it needs to tell us how many are left in which realm so we aren’t searching the wrong realm. Finally, up the resolution for the quest e version of the app.
