THE REAL MANHATTAN The city outside your windows is built from real map data: about 20,000 real buildings at their real heights, the real shoreline and street grid, and the Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg and Queensboro bridges where they really stand. Lit windows show rooms inside, shops glow at street level, and Brooklyn, Queens and Jersey City shine across the rivers.

THE MANHATTAN LOOP A 17 km lap: north up the FDR Drive under the bridges, down 42nd Street past Grand Central and through the lights of Times Square, south along the West Side Highway beside the Hudson, and through the Battery underpass.

A REAL RACE COCKPIT Bucket seats, harnesses, a roll cage and a racing wheel that turns with your steering. Speed, gear, nitro and score sit on the dash screens, with live mirrors.

TRAFFIC, NEAR MISSES AND NITRO Taxis, vans, trucks and city buses fill the lanes. Pass them with under a metre to spare for NEAR MISS points, chain them up to x10 and fire the nitro they earn.

RIVALS AND POLICE Race three rival crews in street-tuned sports cars. Blast past a patrol car and it gives chase with lights and siren - every near miss scores double until you lose it.

THE NIGHT LADDER A career of 10 events and 30 stars: sprints, crosstown races, rush-hour runs and checkpoint laps, some in the rain. Or jump into a Quick Race, a Near Miss Rush, or a Free Ride with no clock at all.
