Why oh why not in 3D??

I really appreciate the effort of this historical reconstruction. The app navigates nicely and the narrations are fine. Probably almost 20 sites to explore. Should be an easy 5 star app BUT the environment is not 3D, just 360 panoramas! This is a critical failure that sinks the whole app. It totally lacks immersion, scale, and depth as a result. Maybe could forgive this if the environment was crystal clear, but I've experienced better resolution in many other rendered apps. I was hoping this app would be a gateway to buying all the Rome Reborns, but sadly it's the end of my journey...

Picked this up on sale. Just the sort of detailed insights I'm looking for in an educational VR app! Feedback: 1) I tried a little bit of it but will set aside the rest for later because I can only hear out of one ear, and the voiceover effectively drops off in volume when I look in certain directions, which means it can be hard to look at the thing the voiceover is talking about. I suggest not attempting to spatialize the voiceover - just make it a magic 2D voice in my head instead! 2) Swiping to move the control panel an inch at a time is very odd UX, and it doesn't allow me to move the panel vertically, which is the one thing I wanted to do with it!

Visiting the Roman Forum currently in reality for many can be frustrating since it is completely in ruins, and you can neither appreciate nor imagine what the buildings of the Roman Forum were like. Well, with this application we can finally get an idea of ​​how it used to be, to explore the buildings in detail, and enjoy the beauty of the Roman Forum. The application has a similar interface in terms of management, Flight over Ancient Rome, just start the application and have an assistant tutorial that will teach us the management of the application, to select the points we want to visit, and how to listen to the narrations. Once learned the management, we will leave a map with the facilities that we can visit. We will select the building that we want to visualize with the Controller or Touchpad, and we can see how they were in their original state, and listen to the narration (can be repeated and paused) of a teacher explaining by voice the details in English (I suggest there should be subtitles at least in Spanish, etc ..) In many monuments we will get a Timeline option, in which we can see its current status, to compare it with its original state, it impresses a lot. I have been visiting historical monuments, temples, the Senate, etc ... the duration if you hear the teacher's voice is good. The graphics are fine with an adequate resolution and well detailed. It is a very good educational experience, ideal for acquiring knowledge or showing the family, even for teaching centers. Totally recommended if you like history.

The Roman Forum finally comes alive

As an archaeologist and university instructor based in Rome, I regularly take students into the Roman Forum and spend a great deal of time describing/explaining the appearance and functions of its numerous buildings, but that approach can go only so far in the absence of decent on-site signage (there is none) or a purpose-made set of images. This app will revolutionize the way the Roman Forum is taught and approached. Created by a team of scholars, its contents are rich, precise, and accurate. The visual rendering is stunning, and the narrated descriptions are elegantly synthetic. Navigation is easy and intuitive. When my students put on an Oculus headset in the Roman Forum, they always let out a loud gasp of amazement and then do several circles in place in order to take it all in. The app brings the Roman Forum to life in ways that even a personal visit cannot: students and history enthusiasts can now experience and learn about the space as the ancient Romans did, from the comfort of home. This monumental accomplishment could be improved with a couple of features: (1) the most interesting and informative ancient literary passages pertinent to each structure (as in P. Aicher's Rome Alive book) and (2) the ability to navigate freely at ground level along the lines of Google Street View.
