Cosmic XR is a hidden gem in the VR/MR world. I am surprised it is not on top of the charts. It’s like having a magical, interactive planetarium in your home. The mixed reality integration is impressive, letting celestial bodies float around your real space in a way that feels both educational and awe-inspiring. For the price, it’s an incredible value. At the very least, try the trial.

I love going to the planetarium and watching the space shows, my favorite part is when they zoom out as far as possible and it really makes you feel very small. I wish they had that feature here. I wish the cosmic Webb was like actually moving and didn’t feel so stationary too. I also wish that the planets came with information on the moons Would be awesome to see more of that added

Update: The developers have made an effort to correct many of the things that I found fault with in my earlier review. The graphics are improved and many inaccuracies corrected. Although I still can't recommend this for someone interested in a deeper understanding and visual experience of the universe, I find it to be appealing as a learning tool for young people getting their first introduction to astronomy~~~ therefore four stars. ****** This is a cute app that kids might enjoy, but anyone else with an interest in cosmology will be disappointed. The graphics quality is mediocre. The bands of Jupiter are inaccurate random colored rings. The rings and features of Saturn are completely inaccurate. Earth looks like a cheap globe made in the 50's. Venus is a false color radar map (Venus actually looks nothing like this), but this is not mentioned anywhere. All of the galaxies in the "galaxy view" are just two dimensional little pictures floating around. The models of the Andromeda galaxy and the Milky Way are completely inaccurate, and seem to have been made up without referring to a single reference work. In every view, you are surrounded by random stars (even in solar system, galaxy and cosmic web view!), and the stars are even visible right through the middle of the black hole! All in all, I think that the colorful but low-resolution and completely inaccurate representations here are only appropriate for kids, who might enjoy this (therefore two stars).

For the first version, this is amazing. 4 stars for that. I love the cosmic scale. I always recommend that any developers look to the Cosmic Watch app as the gold standard for understanding the celestial mechanics of our own solar system. This app has great potential for that. I would love to see more features within our solar system. For example choosing a heliocentric or a geocentric view of planetary movement where the geocentric view can be from the ecliptic or topocentric. The latter brilliantly shows how the Earth's tilt and axial wobble impact our earthly experience of the planets and stars. I also think the ability to speed and slow time while tracing orbital paths is essential so you can observe the incredible geometry that emerges.

The visuals are amazing and the information, but I feel it’s pretty easy to run out of things and I have three recommendations. 1. It would be cool to be able to go through a mini universe with big main things annotated and you can click them to view them (only able to click the things currently available in the bar, still more things annotated. 2. Obviously more sections like exoplanets, maybe more solar systems, nebulae, etc.Thix also means maybe more vehicles like the Artemis or Saturn V. 3. I also wish when things were annotated that I could click on it and see it more detailed with more details on that specific component. Just a little extra thing is that Jupiter looks awesome and it would be cool if other planets looked just as cool
