The Crown Jewel of VR experiences!

This might be the first review I’ve ever written for a VR product, but this is also the only VR experience I have been able to play for more than 40 mins at a time so it’s 100% well-deserved and here’s why 🕵️‍♂️ Story: Agatha Christie level of well-written characters, Danganronpa like twists and Ace Attorney like mechanics, Detective VR is a triumph of narrative and murder mystery experiences. Everything comes cohesively together to create an engaging narrative, where not only will you struggle to figure out whodunnit, you’ll get to literally see the characters, their memories and their lies in front of you and have the chance to bring all their skeletons out of the closet. The A-Class voice acting a cut above most games and stellar soundtrack will also immerse you completely, this is the first experience I actually moved around objects in game rather then through them! Mechanics: this game is not a walk in the park even for the seasoned murder mystery aficionado, you’ll be using the amazing magnifying glass feature to look under every table and behind every wall for fingerprints and blood because the game is not going to make it easy for you, especially if you want to unlock all concealed truths characters are hiding from you. Ultimately, if you are looking for the VR experience to not only debate culprits at the dinner table with your friends and family but also to recreate that childhood feeling of picking up a book like Harry Potter and getting completely lost in the characters, stories and magic of another world, this is a must play experience. Not doing so would be a real crime against yourself :0

🔍 Step Into the Mind of a Detective

This game offers one of the most immersive investigative experiences I've had in VR. You truly feel like a crime scene investigator — taking photos, linking clues, and slowly unraveling the truth. What makes it stand out is the brilliant transition between VR and MR, adding a new level of realism as you switch environments to find new evidence or connect details others might miss. Every scene feels like you're part of a gripping thriller — you’re at the center of the mystery, and the pressure to observe everything is real. It’s clever, intense, and incredibly well executed. The stress of missing a clue is balanced by the satisfaction of solving each piece of the puzzle. If you enjoy detective stories, escape rooms, or immersive puzzle games, this is a must-have. A very polished and unique experience — it absolutely deserves a place in any quality VR library.

Quite boring

I really was looking forward to this! The idea is cool for sure, prefer the MR stuff over when it puts you into VR as it was a little dangerous then teleporting around the VR space but then turning and slightly moving in my real space so was completely losing where i was trying to stay stood. The game seems to just do the work for you rather then you actualy solve things, grab a photo, aim the magnifying glass and click through the 3 tools, no skill to it just gauranteed result everytime. Then for the hour or so i played i seem to just be putting videos on and watchin parts of a conversation which i had no idea the context but apparently i did the right things as i got green ticks and it went onto the next scene / location.. i was kinda like "ahh ok, i guess i did something there" Im not sure if its a few cases or it seemed to feel like it was going to be 1 long 1 but i may be wrong (hopefully its not just the one) The one thing that defo needs updating is the location you place the board. I moved it to 1 of my real walls and then moved the pedestal to a position that would have the projection of the person in the centre of my room, but upon returning to the board after each area it would just then randomly have the board somewhere else in my room and id keep having to place it back on my wall. Got a little annoying after the 4th time, it defo needs to remember the location you leave it, especially if its taking in the room setup of the scan etc. Maybe ill come back to this another time but for now unfortunately i felt pretty underwhelmed and ill most likely be refunding it.

Be the Star detective

Amazing work for a small studio. This game thrusts you into the narrative as a detective trying to solve a murder. Your very own who-done-it with a minority report twist, this game definitely satisfies my mystery vibes. The mixed reality integration is also amazing. While the board and pedestal does not reset perfectly every time, the functionality of moving these objects around your mapped out space is very easy. Hand tracking is about 90% responsive and accurate, and also a great way to immerse oneself in the crime. All and all amazing game and I look forward to updates and other installments!!!
