One of the best VR games

I was lucky enough to try the game at an event earlier and wow I am simply blown away by the final version. First off: This is not a grand strategy game. Instead it is more action oriented when you maneuver your spaceship around in a “god like” mode. The first thing that struck me was just how much love there is in the little details. I think the graphics are simply amazing, the small things like how yourship looks, the way rockets are fired and hit the targets… Everything feels really quality. I have only beaten the first boss yet so I can’t tell you what happens after that but man that was a cool battle. And the first time a whole frakking planet cracked and a huge creature came out was the best moment so far. The game focuses a lot on battles with other spaceships and aliens, and i really like how fun these battles feel after getting to grips with the controls. You have different weapons to fire and you can loot enemies and also purchase upgrades to the weapons. I got a really cool dragon companion in my first run who joined me in battles. You will die a lot in this game since it is a roguelite but it never feels too punishing and every new run was different from the previous one. I encountered new kind of enemies and chose other routes through space and found new resources so I could keep upgrading the ship. I have not tried hand tracking since I prefer to play with controllers anyway. This is a really unique game and I hope as many people as possible will decide to try it, since there is nothing quite like it in vr. Kudos to the devs!

Incredible, one of if not the best

Having owned my Quest for over a year I have really struggled to be motivated to use it. As soon as I heard about a Stellaris game I really hoped it would be the answer and all I can say is wow, it really is. The detail, the variety, the gameplay it’s all there in spades. Exploration, loot, battles that really make you think instead of mindless shooting. It really is a game changer for me and my Quest The back drops of each system are amazing, you can just sit looking around and see so much detail everywhere. Well done to the devs, you’ve created a fantastic game and even better a unique brilliant experience. I can’t wait to play some more already!

In-Depth Review (no spoilers)

Ghost signal is a casual action-packed roguelike strategy game that works really well. You are put in a position as the captain of the captain of the Aurora warping through endless sectors to find the ghost signal. As for the gameplay, you warp through sectors that are randomly generated, so you will have a different experience every run. You captain your ship using waypoints in a set area. You are armed with three weapons: a machine gun, which has a high dps, a lazer with long range, and rockets with very high range. All of them have their pros and cons, so you will always be circulating through them the entire game. The machine gun and lazer have a short cooldown before you can start firing again, but the rockets are tied to an ammunition source. The machine gun is good at taking down enemy HP, the lazer is good for shield, and the rocket is good for both but takes a bit to lock on. From traders, starting the game, or killing enemies, you can obtain special components that will only help you from this run. They can have chances of triggering events in your favor, offering a trade off, or just general benefits for you and your ship. There are also permanent upgrades for your ships with an upgrade tree to get more benefits for your next run. The currency in this game are coins and research. By using your laser, you can mine asteroids to get coins that can be used to upgrade components or to be spent on traders. Research can mainly be found by scanning certain sectors, especially creatures. For the enemies, there is a fair amount of them to make you strategically prioritize them to take the least amount of damage as possible. Some are low on health and typically spawn more to swarm you, while some are beefy and even fire their own projectiles. There is a roadmap that shows all possible locations to get to, there are regular battles, elite batters for more risk and reward, random sectors, traders, creatures, and even shipwrecks. The creatures are the most notable because they can help or hinder you. Overall, this is a good casual strategic roguelike (which is very rare) for all types of players. There are daily challenges with a leaderboard to compete against others. There is even asynchronous multiplayer so you can loot ships from real places that players lost. Umissable Sci-Fi VR Rouguelite

It’s really cool to comes across previously destroyed versions of yourself that you have no memory of, and pick up an extra power up left behind in the ship debris. I love how you have to learn to deal with each enemy and picking your path can change every run dramatically. For example I was very lucky to grab a perk that gave me extra XP for every creature I encountered. So I planned my course to meet as many as possible. I met a space dragon and it gave me an egg. I hatched it and gained a companion to fight alongside me, plus gained extra XP for my next run too. Time slows during combat and as you start learning the different abilities of the enemy it turns into a simplistic game of chess almost. Deciding who to kill first and what to use to kill them while deciding which way to turn can make all the difference in every battle.

Simple to play, immersive, challenging

First of I like to thank the developers for this vr gem which would still be a good steamdeck or pc and even android game. However this does not mean that this game has a shallow gameplay or crappy graphics. It is a mix which I found hard to believe that this will work out. But it does and it delivers. Gameplay You direct a spaceship through different sectors in a Faster than Light like map. The game itself plays like an rts, you set waypoints, fire laser and gattling cannons or rockets at enemies. There is plenty to discover, which I won't spoil here. Story I have beaten the game once yet and I feel that the story is engaging enough to keep me going. Graphics The game could be a tad bit sharper. When you zoom in, everything is crisp and really good looking but once you zoom out you get the typical edges a because the game is graphically not really top notch, I don't really get why this was a necessary design decision. However the game runs smooth at all times and I guess this is more important. The backgrounds however are beautiful and you feel as if being in space. One of the best quest 2 standalone games so far. Please keep up doing software like that.
