NRA Instructor's Opinion

I was looking for indoor ways to teach students basic firearm safety. I looked at expensive range simulators like Point blank and smokeless simulator. Both require a short thrown projector about 900$, and a startup cose or monthly fee of either 2700$ or 90$ a month. After demoing both of these simulators I was ready to "pull the trigger" on the point blank. 200$ for camera, 80 a month for software, and 900 for the projector. Almost 1200$. I was browsing Amazon 2 nights ago and saw the meta quest 2. Then as I was watching YouTube videos saw the Meta Q2 had some nifty shooters. Mine arrived yesterday and I immediately downloaded this gun club. It was jaw dropping how much better this was then either of the more expensive options. I have it 4 stars because it is a little finicky at times. As a larger bellied old man when I look down I have a hard time seeing things.... (No not that lol) the gun in the holster seems to have kept moving on me. Also setting up the standing height can be a little bit of a chore to get 100%. Other then that I mean even the safeties worked on the guns lol. I'd love to see a competition content download like IPSC or so on with popular courses set up to run.

Paid my money then had support removed..

I bought this game, specifically because it supported the ProtubeVR ForceTube. It was my goto game on the quest 3. Then after an update support for this expensive device was taken away. Of course I cannot refund this game after having played it for more than a year. After being on forums, I can conclusively say that the developers of GunClubVR themselves chose to remove support on the Quest platform (could have stuck with the original ProtubveVR plugin version but erroneously chose not). Its very bad practice to take away something people paid for without giving the opportunity to get a refund at least. Also - Quest 3 owners be aware that you cannot offset the controller position for yaw. So you are literally aiming 5 degrees left of where you will shoot when using a pistol. As a workaround rotate the pistol away from the vertical anti clockwise.

Broken Mechanics, Lazy Modeling

Despite branding itself as a "Gun Simulator," this game fails to implement even the most fundamental firearm mechanisms properly. If you are a gun enthusiast who appreciates mechanical accuracy, stay away. ​1. Non-existent Slide Stop Animations ​The visual representation of the slide stop/release is completely broken. In a real firearm, when the magazine is empty, the slide stop lever moves upward and locks into the notch on the slide. In Gun Club VR, this animation is entirely omitted. The slide just hangs back in the air by "magic" without any physical interaction with the stopper lever. ​2. Blatant Modeling and Physics Errors ​The lack of attention to detail is staggering. Take the Desert Eagle for example: ​The slide stop is placed in a completely incorrect position. ​Not only is there no upward movement of the lever, but its placement is so physically impossible that it couldn't actually hold the slide back in reality—yet the slide stays open anyway. ​The Glock models suffer from similar issues, where the stopper doesn't even align with the corresponding notch on the slide. ​3. Seven Years of Neglect ​What makes this truly inexcusable is that this game has been out for over seven years. These aren't complex bugs; these are fundamental flaws in the 3D assets and animation logic. The fact that the developers have left these "rookie mistakes" unpatched for nearly a decade shows a total lack of understanding (or care) for the mechanical soul of the firearms they are trying to simulate. ​Final Verdict: This is not a simulator. It’s a poorly constructed arcade game with sloppy assets that ignore the basic laws of mechanical engineering. A huge disappointment for anyone looking for immersion.

Please fix the game

I got on last night and was devastated to find that this game was ruined over night. I don’t have the best eye sight and so it’s hard to see and use the iron sights on the guns. I found that the laser made it possible for me to have a blast playing. Being able to see where the gun is pointing and where the bullets are landing made the game incredibly fun to play for me. Now that I can’t see the laser at all made me not able to play in any form which I had been. Please fix the lasers please!!!!!!!!!!

Needs actual enemies

All the enemies in the game are cardboard cutouts and it gets kinda boring with no real threat. Sure they shoot back but they have stormtrooper aim...... Plus theyre cardboard cutouts soooooo... JUST ADD REAL PEOPLE
