Great use of natural movement

Only a handful of games have explored natural movement so far (Unseen Diplomacy, Tea for God, Eye of the Temple), which is a shame, since it really makes the most of being immersed in VR. This is a very well designed exploration of a similar movement concept, having you explore a very trippy MC Esher-like hotel. Couldn't put it down - played through it in one sitting. Highly recommended!

Creative VR at Its Best!

I’ve been looking forward to this game for a long time, as it’s from William Chyr, the creator of the fantastic Manifold Garden. He has a background in physics before moving into art installations (and juggling), so he’s a bit of a polymath and that unique mindset really shows in the games he creates. Manifold Garden took around five years to develop, and you can tell he pours everything into crafting these works of art. Hotel Infinity is no exception. From the moment you start, you’re completely immersed in its distinctive environment. It constantly plays with your sense of perspective, and the puzzles are cleverly designed, challenging without ever feeling unfair, and incredibly satisfying to solve. Just walking around the hotel and interacting with its objects and shifting spaces is an experience in itself. I’ve taken so many screenshots because some rooms are simply beautiful. It’s a game to be savoured and not rushed. If you’re interested in environmental design, topology, or what VR can achieve when pushed to its limits by a creative mind, I highly recommend this game. I’m about halfway through and haven’t encountered any major bugs beyond getting my hand briefly stuck behind a curtain. The sound design is excellent as well, and the sense of mystery and slight unease runs through the entire experience. This kind of roomscale VR game is a niche genre within an already niche medium of VR but more titles really should take advantage of it, the immersion is unmatched and I feel it’s one of the best ways to experience VR. I live in a small two-up two-down house and still managed to set up the space required, though other locomotion options are available if needed. That said, roomscale is absolutely the best way to play. It’s one of the best VR experiences I’ve had, and more people need to know about it. It was such a strange feeling taking off the headset off after a session and to see the real world looking so normal again, it made me question my own reality! I highly recommend Hotel Infinity. Thank you developers for the wild ride!

Great game... but wait for a sale

There are very few games on the quest that actually match your IRL playspace to their in-game space using roomscale. I speak as an author of another such game, though I don't use impossible spaces. The navigation here is the same as in Tea for God and TraVRse, aka impossible spaces. It is very well implemented and only requires a 2m x 2m space. I urge you to play it in roomscale and not stationary to get the full effect. It really isn't anywhere near the same experience in stationary, nothing to do with the game design and everything to do with the impossible spaces concept. Ok, roomscale nerding out aside, this is a truly clever and fun game with unique puzzles. The challenge is low, but their uniqueness makes up for it. I highly recommend this game. The only caveat is the price. I rated it 5 stars based on the quality of the game, but if it was up to me I would suggest a price between $10 and $15 due to the short length and no replyability (that I could find). So, wishlist, wait for a sale, then pounce on it! :)

Very trippy and cool game but…

Took maybe an hour to beat the entire game, it was a great experience…. But not one worth 20 dollars, game was very well done loved the puzzles and environments I just think realistically for the content you’re offering it’s more of a 5 dollar game, MAYBE 10 and that’s a hard maybe coming from someone who’s been playing vr for 7 years. Great game 10/10 on experience just sucks I paid 20 bucks for less an hour and 4 levels.

Fun short story

This game is a great VR experience especially when done in roomscale. It was disorienting in the best way to walk around in such a small space while at the same time traversing a huge hotel. I loved how the vibe turned spooky pretty early on. Game took maybe 2 hours total. The puzzles are quite easy so don’t play this looking for a puzzle challenge, and the graphics are very simplistic. But I really enjoyed the music and sound design of this game and the story they managed to tell through the environment.
