Add smb, epub support and I’ll try again

I don’t use google drive and I can’t be bothered to copy individual files onto my device. I have a large collection e-books, comics and magazines on my local NAS that I’d love to be able to browse in my headset. If this app allowed browsing an smb share and loading epub formatted books, it would become interesting. For now, it offers nothing I want, but maybe has the most potential of the few reader apps I have tried so far.

Shockingly impressive

Upfront: as I write the review, the app is now free and the developer has explained he's/she's having to pause (or abandon) work on the app so updates/bug-fixes might never be released. Accepting that the app definitely has some bugs and is missing some features you might want--the experience of using the app is overwhelming positive. My particular interest was to see how comics would appear. I download golden-age comics from the internet archive and threw a few on alongside a 1995 Computer Gaming World magazine (also sourced from internet archive). Reading those comics in VR was nothing short of stunning. I was sitting in my living room, in pass-thru mode, just leafing through a 1946 issue of SHAZAM! You can easily re-size the comic up to a giant-size. And those colors just POP in VR. Honestly, I will never go back to reading comics on flat-screen--this experience was THAT compelling. As to the magazine--again, just a tremendous experience. Those early 90's gaming magazines are full of beautiful, full-color art, photos, and ads. Reading it in VR is just...ideal. I didn't test a traditional (text) book--but I don't think I'm going to like that. It's the COLOR from the comics as well as from all the art & photos in old magazines that really are the most impactful. This developer did some really fine, groundbreaking work. I've been in VR since 2016 and have never seen another app like this. If he/she doesn't have an opportunity to re-visit this project, I hope others will build similar VR reading apps with similar functionality.

Critical bug CANT CONNECT Google Drive

Amazing app with so much potential, really clean UI and page turning with hand tracking feels good! But I just CAN'T USE THE APP - clicking on Google Drive to connect CRASHES the app. Please fix this! 🙏🏼🥺

Huge opportunity for the dev

This app is great and unique. It has an amazing potential and I think it would be a mistake for the dev to stop at this point. To the dev: I contacted you on Reddit, I hope you'll see my message and get back to me! Congrats on what you've achieved so far.

Need book list and Chinese support

It is a great app for reading. However i can not create books lists to seperate different type of book, it is hard to find a book from just over 30 books. And titlle of chinese book all becoming garbled characters. This app need more language support.
