I play on Q3 and I must say I am very unimpressed. Low resolution, low resolution textures, popping geometry, popping textures, bitmaps where there should be geometry... and.... long load time. At least the soundtrack is as i remember it. I didnt expect the pcvr version but clearly too many corners were cut here in this port.

I’ve played several hours of the Riven remake and have been thoroughly enjoying the experience so far. There have been some bugs and graphical glitches that have happened, but I’m sure Cyan will sort those out over time. They were great at releasing patches for Myst on the Quest platform. As for the game itself, it’s Riven in VR. I’ve gone through the original game a few times before, but now with this remake, I often find myself thinking, “Wasn’t there something here?” or “Well, that’s new.” For those familiar with Riven, you’ll be pleased to have a new experience with the game. Many of the changes I’ve noticed make sense and fit well within the game from a creative standpoint. For anyone interested in the game, I highly recommend taking detailed notes as you play. Grab some paper and sketch any symbols, puzzles, or peculiar details you come across. These notes will likely prove invaluable as you progress. Additionally, make sure to read through the various books you encounter, as they can contain crucial lore and world-building elements. Overall, I’m loving my time with this Riven remake. Experiencing the world in VR is both refreshing and engaging, and the updated changes keep the sense of discovery exciting. What lies ahead in the coming hours of gameplay? I can’t wait to find out.

First off, I really like the world of Myst and Riven. I was brand new to it when I played Myst vr for the first time this month, but I found it interesting and fun. Playing Riven was debated for a while, though, because of all the poor reviews, but I tried it anyway, and I do not regret it. The islands and ages are so full of secrets and places to explore that I was nearly overwhelmed by the awesomeness on day one. I have been playing for a week now and have gotten to know the place fairly well. The game could really benefit from a note-taking feature, as I had to have a notepad with me irl each time I played. That is just a developer suggestion, though, not a major problem. Here is what I have some issue with: The loading time. I don't know if it's just me, but it takes over 5 minutes from the time I select the app to finally beign able to move in the game and resume my adventure. That being said, I know that the game is huge, and that is what makes it so amazing, and I have not let the wait time stop me from playing multiple times a day. If you liked Myst, you'll love Riven. Don't let the occasionally bad rendering or glitch dissuade you from this epic adventure. Play on advanced comfort setting if you can handle it. This game would be 7 stars in my book, if only they could fix the few little problems. I rated 5 because of how much I enjoyed it. I hope others will read this and try it out. It's worth it.

I guess some people have a problem with certain graphical aspects of the game but I think it’s beautiful. I am a Myst fan and I was overjoyed when cyan ported it to the first quest but I never played riven. Just a tad on mobile years ago. So this is like a brand new game to me inside the Myst universe and I get to experience it in vr. So far everything runs fairly smooth and it’s a beautiful looking game. The locomotion is probably the smoothest and most comfortable I’ve experienced. It’s a real adventure. Pretty amazing. I can only imagine the work that goes into something like this. Thank you for bringing it to the quest cyan.

As a long time cyan worlds fan way back. I wanted this new revision of the classic to be great. This was the first game I played from them and it was the catalyst for my obsession with the must series of games and books. However this version of it seems to miss the mark entirely on a technical stand point. The downgrade is more drastic then I think it should have been and even with the drastic downgrade it still has a myriad of bugs, frame rate hitches and texture issues, the game is a chore to even play. This seems to be an issue more or less of continued support for the game as it has not had a patch for almost 9 months from its release. Cyan, you’re better than this.
