So I tried it. The controls are clunky and the hitbox is non-existent. You only get a splash of blood when you make a successful hit. I couldn't even get through the tutorial because I got frustrated. Also the AI seems to strafe a lot and unless you are in a swivel chair; you're going to have a problem. The game has potential, but it's far from reaching it. Good idea, poor execution.

So, the games good and all, graphics simple yet enemies nicely made. The hitboxes though are a bit iffy and it doesn't feel like the other swords do anything else besides change the appearance. It's nice that you have a choice between teleporting and moving with the touch pad. Though all in all, the games pretty good but could use a bit of updating on the hitboxes.

It looks ok, but the main point of this game is the sword fighting. It does not seem like that mechanic is working well. Blocking does not seem to work. To land a hit you have to be way to close to the enemy but they can be much farther away and land hits. I do not know why I am able to land hits sometimes while other times not. My experience with this game was do a tutorial, then run to enemies, get way to close, do a bunch of figure eights with my controller, the enemy dies, then run to the next enemy and repeat. Fairly boring with not much making a lot of sense and needing more accurate sword play.

A fairly good game for the price. First, please please add an option to change to 72hz mode. 60hz mode is flickering too much for me to be bearable for a longer time! The graphics are more on the simple side, except from the skeleton enemies, which are really nicely done. Controlling the sword with the Oculus Go controller works quiet well, actually much better than I expected (because it's only a 3DoF-system). Countering enemy hits works well and is good fun, placing hits on the other hand seems to work somewhat illogical or imprecise. Maybe to less or imprecise hitboxes as others have mentioned?

SwordFight is amazing. It has those classic graphics for the castle and surroundings and the detailed skeleton attackers both scary and well programmed. The tutorial is great as it really shows you the games potential and has a good fight at one point. You can play a sort of fruit slash thing in the arena where junk comes flying at you and you must hit it but not the bombs, there are a good few levels where you fight the ever coming skeletons, and the expansion and upgrading of your sword/axe makes a good addition to the game. I really like the way the controller is used as a good tracker for the weapon it feels real and comfortable. The smooth locomotion is sometimes annoying but teleporting fixes that. Definitely play this standing up as you have to turn around a lot. I would say to new players go to the gate to do levels - it took me awhile to figure this out. Overall this is a great sword game a hidden gem in the oculus store. Well some plague studios!
