UNDERPASS 666 - Cyberpunk 万灯会

Route 666 was closed long ago. The tunnel under it was never filled in.

You walk. You cannot stop, and you cannot turn back. Above the entrance, cut into the concrete, is a line from Dante.

Stone lanterns stand along both walls, unlit. Pale lights drift between them. Shoot one. It becomes a sound, and a lantern is lit. Each lantern sounds one note of Clair de lune. There is no music playing. The melody exists only while you are firing.

When the melody ends, the walking slows. Ten figures are standing in the dark. One of them has different eyes.

A festival of ten thousand lamps, held underground, for no one.
