This game made me finally review a game

I never write a review…ever. So to finally have to for this game says a lot. First off, I effing love this game! It is amazing. I grew up with guitar hero, then rock band, to all the variations and I’ve loved them all. But this definitely takes the cake. Ive seen a few reviews that say they notice sometimes the hand tracking for the strumming sometimes doesn’t register and I agree. I play notes while looking directly at the guitar in a familiar song and I miss the note for some reason when I shouldn’t. Other than that it seems to be okay. Also I agree that the difficulty goes from my 8 year old nephew, to ZZ Top or something in the blink of an eye. Not giving up, but I could see it be discouraging. All in all, this is the game that makes buying an oculus worth it to me! On a side note, I think new song updates/being able to pick and download songs/buy new songs basically any way to get new songs to play on this game is a must. I would buy single songs that I like to be able to play them for years to come!(kinda like buying a song on iTunes?)

Strum and miss

I brought this cos I was an avid player of guitar hero. Unplugged is just too hit and miss I've tried it standing sitting with a static and room boundary and the hand tracking is just gash. I've had this game now for 5 or 6 weeks and I still can't find the best angle to hold the guitar I play one tune and hit 95 percent then play the same tune same position etc and miss 95 percent there is no margin for millimetres of movement which playing a guitar game you need to move. The strumming is garbage so far I haven't had the guitar in the same position for a full song and one note strums the next is not recognised. The sound and graphics are good which makes me even more miffed the hand tracking element makes the game unplayable as I really wanted this game to work and be a banger instead I feel it's just a waste of my money

Like the game but struggling

I'm a big fan of guitar games so was quite pleased to see this. Recently got the quest so still getting used to it. As a physical guitar player in the real world I find it quite hard to master the vr guitar. The main problem is getting it in a playable position. It sits out too far from my body. I also don't hold the pick the same way and there is no option to move it around so all in all a bit odd. I don't pinch the pick between finger and thumb more side of thumb and forefinger. Means my hand would be flat of the body rather than out away from it. Maybe if I wasn't used to the real thing my mind would buy into the concept but I'm struggling. Other than that I like the game and well done. Don't regret buying it but might take time. Maybe add an option to use a real or fake physical guitar and the vr one locks onto it so when you move on it it follows. Not a developer so no idea if this can even be done. If it worked for me as well as guitar hero on the PlayStation etc I don't think I would be putting it down.

Fun but flawed

I hesitated to buy this game for a long time because I was skeptical about the hand tracking. After watching numerous videos, I decided to give this game a go. Does the hand tracking work? Sometimes. I never have any problems with the left hand tracking, but the right hand, it seems to miss my strums a lot. I still can't figure out how to consistently make the strum register. I play the guitar in real life, and I don't know if my real life habits are getting in the way. But I still think this game is super, super fun. And despite all the missed strums, it's not frustrating to the point that I don't want to come back. Also, it's got humor and the gradual unlocking of gear and venue is exciting. I hope the hand tracking improves and the strums register better in future updates.

Great game BUT

Honestly I love this game it's so good and really fun with hand tracking but if you have a guitar pick irl USE IT it makes the experience a whole lot better and makes it easier. It also give your hand a weight and a sense of where the strings are. Over all 10/10 great game
