READ IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING PAINTING VR

If you are deciding between this and painting vr, this is for you, i bought both and painting vrs physics are really not great, only brush physics, which are just as good in vermillion. yes there is spray paint, large brushes and that sort of stuff in painting vr, but its really not very good. its really hard to get used to painting vrs controls but in vermillion its all very easy to understand and do. of course painting vr has the mechanic of rubbing your hand over the canvas to mix paint. thats really cool but theres a lil rag in vermillion that you can use to create blends in the painting. if you want to do grafitti, go for kingspray, if you want grafitti with some painting, go painting vr (however dont expect a realistic painting experience), if you want a realistic painting simulation, go vermillion. Another thing to note is that in painting vr all the brushes you would realistically need to make a half decent painting need 1 or 2 dlcs, which is more of your money towards the developer. one of the dlcs is "esencialls brush pack" which is exactly as described, esencial brushes to make any actual bit of art😅. like ive already just paid £15 for the game, now you want more so i can play it properly? no thanks. painting vr was a very quick refund for me, but vermillion was spot on from the start. REVIEW: absolute top tier painting experience, great physics, love the mixing, cleaning, adjusting the way you hold your brush, its all very well thought out. the browser is pretty good aswell, although the keyboard does not toggle on certain websites, its only really their for youtube tho so thats fine. love this game

One in a Vermilion!

There are only a few Apps that I've been compelled to review on the Meta 2, and Vermilion is definitely in my top 5! I'm an artist (polymer clay sculpture mainly) but I've had a lot of surgeries over the last few years which has unfortunately confined me to bed. Vermilion allows me to get my creative side going without the hassle of getting out all my supplies (which by the time I get set up..I'm usually exhausted anyway) or having to clean everything up afterwards! Plus, with the Oculus Meta 2, I can take an entire art studio full of canvases, paints, and tutorials with me anywhere I go! (Hospital, physical therapy.. visiting a friend..etc) There are SO many good reasons why Adults, Kids, Beginners, and Veterans should all get this app! It's easy, fun, and creative, just to name a few..but if you're looking for specifics.. continue reading to see if I cover it!💙 **WONDERFUL ACCESSIBILITY!!** I can move everything around in the virtual studio! I can also adjust the height of anything! Because of this, I can paint sitting on the floor, sitting in a chair, or I can move things all the way up to the satisfaction of my standing 6ft1 Hubby! It's even possible to tilt the canvas, and the easel, as well as move the paint palette and paint brushes! I can move everything I need to get the perfect setup! So, I can easily paint sitting up in my bed when I need to. **EASY TO LEARN!!** Vermilion is very intuitive and should come pretty natural to anyone who has ever picked up a paint brush. However, if you're a different kind of artist, like myself, who's barely worked with oils before..don't worry, Vermilion has you covered! There's a built-in YouTube app inside of Vermilion (also moveable) filled with great Vermilion tutorials..and you can, of course, search other instructional videos on YouTube, more painting walkthroughs, or even paint some🌲happy little trees🌲with Bob Ross if you want! There's videos for all age levels and experience! Or heck, go rogue! Start with a blank canvas and fill it in with whatever your heart desires! Or..you could go half-rogue..and use the built in projector to project an image onto your canvas. You can trace or fill in the spaces with color..then make the projection lighter and add more details. **TIPS!!** If you don't like the way you're holding a brush (sideways or too far way from the tip) You can easily just hold down the trigger to re-adjust your hand position. Also, in the settings you can turn on the names for all of your paintbrushes. This is a very helpful feature when you're first learning. **A FEW FAVORITE FEATURES!!** 1.) There's a BACK BUTTON!! That's right! You can delete up to about 8-10 brush strokes. So as long as you delete your mistake before you go too far, you can fix it! If you do go too far, there is an AUTO SAVE feature that does save the entire painting periodically..or you can manually save it before you do something drastic.. just in case! 2.) Also,If your BACKGROUND is perfect.. and you want to paint over it without any blending..you can SWITCH LAYERS and start a brand new layer that won't blend too much into the other layers...but be careful.. there's only 4 layers. 3.) After you've locked in your canvas size, let's say you're halfway along in your painting and you need to paint a very small detail in the background. Maybe a batch of trees, but it needs to be very tiny. Luckily for you, this is in 3D so all you have to do is ZOOM IN (make the picture much larger) paint the trees as you would at a fairly normal size..then when you're done, just scale the picture back down to its original size..and boom..you've just made painting some very tiny details so much easier by ZOOMING IN to that area! **CONCLUSION & THANKS** I just want to say Thank you so much to the creators and crew of Vermilion for creating a wonderful and unique space for those of us who have limited mobility and can't really be active or assemble the tools needed to properly express ourselves! I don't know if it was your main goal, but regardless, you definitely made it happen and I, for one, am very grateful for the versatility you've created! 💙I'm loving Vermilion and learning how to paint with oils. Thank you very much!! 💙

Professional artist

I am a professional artist and painter, you can see my artwork on IG: ThaRealDjNine)👨🏽‍🎨 This is a very accurate painting app. I like the way you can adjust the furniture and easel. I have a few suggestions for the developers: 1. Include a chisel brush so we can really get our Bob Ross on.😃 2. Add more brushes with brush sizes like a script liner brush and a maybe a mop brush for better blending. 👍🏽 3. Add a way to delete layers. I know in real life we don’t have layers but this is an app,so let’s make it fun! 😄 4. What would really be awesome is if you could send your finished paintings to your VR friends, email, etc. I don’t really like uploading to Facebook or to my oculus gallery because I can’t delete them when I want to. Hopefully Meta fixes this. I still give it 5 stars. Keep up the good work.

Love this app

Vermillion VR is, without a doubt, one of the best creative apps available on vr. But I and many other artist i know almost always like to sketch out a rough composition or a basic outline before we commit to painting. An option to use a simple virtual pencil or charcoal stick would be so helpful in the game please think about making this an option🙏

For Amateur And Professional Alike

What? You don't know how to paint? It's not hard. You can stream your favorite paint along in the app! Need more of that color you painstakingly mixed? No problem! Just smear it around and it never runs out! Don't have time to finish that painting? It's okay! The paint won't ever dry out on you! But, what if you do need that layer dry? Don't wait! You can do that too! Want to paint, but don't feel like all the clean up? Not an issue! Just push a button and it's done! All the physics feel spot on. The paint reacts with the brush and canvas exactly the way you would expect it to. Blending colors is an experience in itself. On and off the canvas, you can watch the most beautiful hues and shades come to life. Every brush stroke can be seen, to inspire and add to your creation. No mess, no cleanup. No additional costs for supplies. Heck, it costs less than a single quality brush. Seriously, if you love to paint, just want to relax, or have some good ole fashioned art therapy, then stop procrastinating and buy now!
