Controls pale compared to Iron Rebellion

I think Mech games are extremely well suited for VR: no artificial “smooth” locomotion, a cockpit close by to interact with, and seated without the need for a huge playspace. Mech games can be very immersive in VR. I was excited for this one, but sadly it feels like a smartphone port with buttons mapped. It’s nice seeing the scale of everything, but other that that there’s nothing particularly VR about it. There seem to be a huge variety of weapons and mechs, with different game modes and several maps. There’s multiplayer and a single player campagne. This might still be a good game that you enjoy, but it’s not a good VR game. I didn’t get to any of this, because I couldn’t get passed the controls which to me are the most important aspect of this. Everything is done via buttons and nothing can be interacted with with your hands. Even aiming is done with your head instaed of using your arm movement. The cockpit feels empty and flat. Trying this game made me appreciate Iron Rebellion even more. It’s still in early access on App lab, but everything inside the cockpit can be interacted with and the controls feel and work so much better there.

Great Fun

At first, this game didn't seem very cool. I thought some of the graphics were a little cartoonish, and also a big factor I thought was a little lame was the controlls. - (I wanted more of a HOTAS style system, where you grip a stick and throttle, and I thought using the joysticks of the Oculus controllers seemed lacking for the immersion). But I have to say: after playing a few matches, both of those complaints have disappeared, and I've found myself to really enjoy this game. There are tons of different types of mechs, with different styles, and different weapon systems. Weapons and armor can be upgraded, making your time and effort of playing worth while by increasing the performance of your mech over time. (From my experience, it is still very enjoyable to play against veterans that have superior mechs.) - It is in no way a 'pay to play' game, where they try and sucker you into paying real money for a shortcut at an unfair advantage. The community has been very nice and mature, and although they seem to have a hand full of very young players, they have all been mature and respectful, and everyone just has a good time. PVP Matches consist of: Team Death Match, Capture the Flag, Domination, and VIP. Rounds last about 5 - 10 minutes, and the currency rewarded from them is reasonable, letting you farm a new mech in about an hours worth of time (If I had to estimate). It's a nice rate where it feels rewarding to unlock a new mech, and will keep you busy for awhile, but doesn't feel tooo much of a boring grind. Anyways, I know that's alot of info to read, but I hope my review helps. Happy Playing. 🤖🤠🥳

World of mechs update

The Devs have just about ruined the game for me. I usually play with a kaizen, small fast mech. After the update it's only about 2/3 as fast as it was. It'll take getting used to but I'll manage but the policy about screen names is horrible. How do I find people I usually play with? How do I know who I'm playing with? Do you think maybe you could give the PLAYER the option to share his screen name? I mean it's Our info and should be Our decision if we want to share. Must of us enjoyed knowing who's on the teams

Best VR Mech game period!

Fantastic, arcady, fun! Haven't even tried the campaign but this game was made for multiplayer. Easy to learn, hard to master type of gameplay. Love the fact it uses the analog sticks for movement, the game plays great! Fantastic active online community that's always playing. Only downside is I want more lol! More mechs, more levels, more interactivity. It would be really cool if you could destroy buildings and things. Don't sleep on this game, probably my favorite on Quest! It's Mech Assault in VR! Suggestions: *More end of match stats. I wanna see assist and such. Maybe you could add medals for most kills and the like. *Destruction and interactions with the environment. Look at Mech Assault for the first Xbox as example. *Customization. The ability to paint or texture our mechs. Custom loadouts would ruin the balance tho, please don't do that lol. *Graphic updates. The game looks great and I love the art style! Would still be great to see better/more effects and textures tho. Volumetrics would be amazing for the atmosphere. The game is a bit low res too, but that may be a necessary evil. *More, just more! More mechs, more weapons, more maps! I'm sure these will come in time and I'm really looking forward to those. If you like mech games, look no further

If you have played the likes of Mech Warrior on PC, War Robots & Mech Arena on mobile, this is a similar concept but with different game modes. Whether you like capturing beacons or just straight up demolish your enemy, there is a style for you. The game is brand new so I haven't played around with the mechs but the upgrade system is very well built and allows for a natural progression from all players. Great team behind it, active on Discord. This gets a 5 stars from me!
