Hail to you, Slayer!

The world needs your problem-solving skill and attention to detail to vanquish vampires before a ritual for global domination is complete.

Will you embark on this mythic quest?

In this immersive tactical stealth vampire slaying game, your mission is to persevere through carefully laid traps and puzzles, and by disarming the vampire coffins’ defenses, your victory will be destroying a clan of powerful sleeping vampires.

Your guide? A mystical book. Your tools? From pry bars and clippers, to a hook made from finger bone and a wooden stake, there is plenty of challenge and reward throughout your conquest.

Driven by curiosity and exploration, the victorious vampire slayers are cautious enough to remove nails and wires to get to the vampire’s heart. Be silent, and be precise, and you will overpower these slumbering beasts.

Focus! You can leave Castle Zar in waste if you:

Observe the Vicious Vampires – Swiftly and precisely seal the fate of this royal clan

Disable the Defenses – A steady hand will untangle imposing and intricate traps

Master Your Tools – Use unique instruments as you encounter increasingly difficult puzzles and situations

Betray the Distractions – Conquer the diversions that the vampires devised to unsettle the bravest of slayers

Uncover the Story

– Learn the secrets of Castle Zar, the vampires you encounter, and more

Very well done, but scary.

**Warning: This game is NOT for the faint of heart, or the impatient.** This game is amazing! The ambience, structure, characters, and overall mechanics are exceptional. As a horror game, it's predictably terrifying. This game will get your heart racing to the point where you might feel like throwing up 😂. As of writing this, I've only completed the first two levels, and I'm already traumatized 😂. Please take this game slow, and/or take breaks, or you may feel sick.

Don't worry!

I knew this was going to be an amazing game, and it is. I have completed the first 5 bosses and I can't wait to beat the next 5. Don't worry; the jump-scares are easy to recover from. Sorry but you will need to get spooked in order to start the first coffin. IF YOU CAUSE A DISTURBANCE, don't worry! Just stop what you're doing and continue. Make sure you are 100% sure where their heart is. Also, IT IS VERY EASY TO MISS WHERE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO STRIKE FOR THE RITUAL, but again, don't worry about it too much! They usually wake up at around 4 misses. IF YOU HAVE ARACHNOPHOBIA, (say it with me) don't worry about it! Just turn off spiders appearing in the settings; it's that easy. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY DELETE ALL OF YOUR SAVE DATA, then oooh, sorry. Trust me, I know what you're feeling. IF YOU RUN OUT OF TIME, don't worry about it! All vampires are beatable in 6 minutes at most, (if you're fast enough) so it is ok if you die; just do it again. IF THE BOOK DESTROYED YOUR FEELINGS, then.... then..... th-then call it mean names............? IDK just ignore him. You don't need to worry. IF MY TIPS WEREN'T HELPFUL, don't worry about it! Youtube is a better source anyway. It's easier to get into horror games if you know what you're up against. Have so much fun everyone. One more thing. IF YOU DON'T HIT THE HELPFUL BUTTON, don't worry! It just means you're a loser (you're not actually a loser). (EDIT) I have now beaten the game, and it only gets twice as fun. Elder Zar can be overwhelming, but don't worry about it! honestly, the queen is more scary that the elder. Just be careful, but also be fast. The book really wants to see you kill him. Honestly, the hard challenges ahead make the game a lot more fun. Now that I have beaten the whole game, IF YOU WANT, scroll down to read spoilers. If you don't, then DON'T SCROLL DOWN. Not much room left, but the book is bad. Don't put the stake at the octant, but put the medalion on instead. Kill the book-vampire. No ending is truly good...

Worth the wait

Big fan of Schell's I Expect You To Die series, so I've been pretty pumped for Slayer since it was announced. It does not disappoint, well, there is one thing I hope to see in a sequel. Let us explore the castle! This is such a unique premise for a game and I love the actual ritual for each coffin but I was really hoping to get to free roam the castle and discover secrets, lore, and the like leading up to each vampire coffin. Fingers crossed this becomes a series! There is a lot here to like for puzzle game fans, vampire lovers, and anyone who wants a new premise to experience in VR. With any game you greatly enjoy you always wish for more so I won't hold the relative lack of content against the game, as I believe it reasonably priced. Schell, give us more!

Totally unique and feels great

I'll admit these are just first impressions after the first few levels, but they're very good first impressions! I've not played another game like it so far, having to be so careful with all of your actions adds a level of tension to each level I've not yet found in another VR game. I find myself forgetting to breathe when simply loosening nails or clipping wires. The audio is great as well, doing its best to distract you from the task at hand and adding great atmosphere. Fun game! Highly recommended!

4.5/5 stars, almost a perfect game

I beat this game in about a day and a half and I really enjoyed it. The only thing that would have made this game better is if it was longer. The narration was really good and the puzzles were challenging but still a lot of fun. I really recommend this game to anyone that's looking for a fun puzzle game. If they made a sequel, here's what I'm hoping they'd add. 1) Exploration. Before challenging a vampire, you can explore the castle to either find tools, weapons, and tips about how to kill each vampire. You'd have to solve puzzles to get the additional info and tools. 2) Tools could include oil to place on hinges to stop squeaking, a cross to give an additional try in case the vampire wakes up, garlic to keep the vampire asleep longer, etc. 3) A super hard secret boss that you'd have to figure out how to kill by piecing together clues from the castle. You'd have to select the tools to bring on your hunt and choosing the wrong tools you won't be able to defeat the boss. 4) Additional types of puzzles to open coffins on harder vampires.
