I am writing this review and gave it 4 stars because it’s a awesome game and I really like how u kill stuff in the game and u duck dodge and everything, don’t get me wrong the game itself is fire but the only thing I don’t like is when u get killed u lose everything and u have to start all over again especially if your in a boss battle and u die and that’s it but other than that u just have to play it yourself and find out I love it.

Massive Potential

The game is already really well fleshed out, well worth the current price. The casting mechanic is super intuitive and after a few minutes you can get pretty quick with it. The music is pretty fun too and it really adds to the experience. It has massive potential, but needs a few changes and some more content. It’s also really nice to see the devs updating it, support is always a bonus. I have a few changes that could help improve it a bit: there should be a setting to keep the battle music playing constantly like a radio. I love the music, but I almost never get a chance to fully enjoy a track before I beat a level and I’d like to maintain the energetic pacing. There should also be a list of current spells or modifiers equiped when you pause the game, it wouldn’t really benefit much in game but it would help remember what you have during a run if you ever take a break. It would also be cool if there was a mode where you fight against waves of enemies and you obtain new spells over time as a sort of endless mode, though that’s a completely different play style. There’s also a few bugs that induce lag, such as any spells that attack automatically being multiplied repeatedly. The daemon has this problem sometimes. The sword spell also seems to be a little inconsistent on what counts as a hit, though I might just not be great with it. Other than that the game is pretty well optimized. It is very pleasing to the eyes and well thought out and super easy to sink a lot of time into. I’m excited to see what the devs do with it next!

In there process of reevaluating

This is actually a review after initially beating the game. Now that I've gotten through most of my back catalogue, I wanted to revisit the game and update the score. I'm leaving the old one up, because the game was already very solid at launch, so I expect that if the score changes, it will be from 4 to 5 stars. Back soon with a new review! This is a crazy fun game, with a lot of great/well executed ideas; pulling, then casting the spells, or choosing your own path are just a couple of examples. What this game does, it does very well. The music is fantastic, the visuals match the theme of the game, casting spells for weapons is fun, addictive and adds to the strategy. That said, it's over when it feels like it should only be starting. It feels like a first act for a really epic game. There are quite a few "different" enemy models, but some can be hard to distinguish in a pinch; which, when you're counting shots during some of the later portions, does matter. There are very few actual weapons/spells overall. In the end, the main choice you'll make for play style is if you want powerful single shots, or a shotgun blast spread. Everything else can be equipped in your load out. More variety would give the game longer legs, and hopefully it happens in a future content update. I know some are saying the game is crazy hard; and at the beginning like all roguelites, it is, but it once you understand upgrades and the enemy patterns, the difficulty take a nosedive. While it doesn't take the time to master that something like Until You Fall does, it's still lovingly made and loads of fun. Again, there just needs to be more of everything. I still enjoy it. I'm not upset with the purchase at all. Just don't expect something that feels fully fleshed out... ...yet. but if you like the genre, you'll have fun with this game.

Definitely a unique game in its niche

So when I say unique I mean it. This game definitely stand out as one that is different in an incredible way. The visuals are spectacular and the music is highly original. I'll admit I spent the first ten minutes trying to wrap my head around everything that was going on in the intro, but once I got my bearing I had a ton of fun with it. It's got incredible potential as further development continues on it to become something that truly stands out in the niche and guides things for the better. The devs are very responsive on Discord and always looking for feedback on how to improve the game, something you don't always see. It's a shame this is an unknown gem on the Oculus Store as it's one that I truly think should be highlighted more often. Do yourself a favor and check this game out. You won't regret it.

Fresh, Weird & Exciting

The entire game has a wacky, colorful, abstract, sci/fi feelings. It's very fresh, as an artist I really appreciated the amount of work put into this experience. Yes there are a couple bugs here and there, but they are minor and I wouldn't hold it against them on launch day, and none of them affected my experience The game play is hard to pin down, actually the entire game is hard to pin down, but that's what I find so interesting. If you want something straight forward, this isn't it. The world feels very developed art wise, and out of this world. It has a touch of RPG just in the design of characters and flow. The colors remind me of childhood, but on ACID and traveling through space and time. Thank you for taking chances and making something special. It's projects like this that make VR a special space. For the price I'm not expecting a long game, but looks like there is good replay-ability built in. MORE WEIRD GAMES PLZ!
