Not ready yet...

I want to start by saying that this is a good game. I know it was made by one person, and that's why I decided to support the developer and buy the game. However! There are three problems in this game that significantly spoil the experience: 1. Sloppy graphics. I don't have complaints about the overall level of graphics; rather, it's about the lack of attention to detail. I constantly see textures sloppily applied to objects, which could be trimmed in the wrong place or stretched/flattened. Additionally, there are numerous shaders that strain the eyes. It's worth cleaning this up. 2. Dumb enemies. I understand that essentially, this is Megaman in VR, and enemies in Megaman were not known for their intelligence; they simply repeated some primitive patterns. Nevertheless, I often get tired of dealing with cyborgs running straight at me and flying gadgets appearing in different places. 3. The loading screen consisting of a bunch of repetitive, generated AI pictures. I have nothing against AI, but it could have been used to create a whole narrative comic instead of looking at a bunch of repetitive pictures. If these issues are not addressed, the game is destined for niche status on the sidelines of the Apps Lab. And that's unfortunate. PS Response to the developer: No, this is not good graphics. It's graphics made of mismatched textures, odd objects, and a huge amount of eye-straining shaders. You can't just take a good engine, turn on reflections, shaders, and other effects and say that it's good graphics. It needs to be consistent. Also, I would like to say that if you admit you're just one person with no budget, it's quite strange to set a price for the game comparable to what whole development teams charge. I personally was ready to pay this price, but honestly, in its current state, the game is worth at most $5.

Too bad

Read the 5 star ratings, so bought the game in a great discount but I don't understand the hype. I'm 43, like to play oldscool games like Heroes 3, Fallout 1 & 2, but here I just can't find any artistic value. The best part of the game was the AI generated intro. After that rubbish textures, rubbish effects and so on. I deleted it after 10 minutes. Fortunately bought it for 1$ and not like 10 or what was the original price. Also don't understand the 3.6GB space requirements, looks like some unoptimalization too.

School project?

This game is lacking in every possible way. Even for a game in development. This feels more like a school project done in a single day. I don't like ratings game 1 star, so I gave 2. Story There is some sort of story with AI generated image showed in a slide show at the very start of the game. Music The most complex music must have about 4 different notes, which become annoying really fast. Graphics Fairly ugly and with basically one unique texture (a different one for each level). Enemies 2 differents kind without any sort of AI. Controls They are mostly fine but hard to master for a fast-paced game. Weapons Awful aim and the shooting isn't satisfying at all. There's a clear lack of diversity too. Bugs They aren't hard to find. Annoying stuff You have no feedback when getting hit. The holster doesn't turn when you do. The few weapons (aside from the 2 default ones), the shield, and the grenade, can't be holstered. Pricing 20€ ? Seriously ?

I don't like it.

The game is terrible, and the soulless AI-generated intro is the highlight. It feels like you should be paid to play this.

Very cool shooting platformer

System Critical 2 is a nice follow-up to the incredibly difficult original. The worlds are huge and awe-inspiring, the enemies are ruthless, and the learning curve is very steep. The only notable drawback is the sound. I'm not a huge fan of the music and the sound effects could use a LOT of work, but this can be easily remedied by putting on some headphones with your own music. There's a ton of content for the price here, making it a must-add to the ol' library. l i n k t r . e e / q u a c k b i r t h
