The Eighth Layer

Your home is the level. The Eighth Layer is a mixed reality horror game played in your own rooms, hallway and kitchen.

At 02:00 the power fails. You only see your house where your light shines. Somewhere on the other side a seam opens: the way back. Until then, survive.

What happens in the dark • The Rotten shuffle across your real floor and vanish behind your real walls. • Shadows of ink crawl over your walls and ceiling until they hang above you. • Watchers made of crows send their birds at your head. • A four-dimensional cube glides through your walls. • The air really bends, like light around a black hole.

Six lights: white, red laser, UV, infrared, strobe, green laser. Every creature wants its own light. The red laser reads the secret Script on your walls.

Noise gives you away: talk out loud or scream, and they hear you. Turn off your light and stay low, and the Rotten lose you.

Seven nights and an endless eighth. A choir of thousands of voices tells what the Dream is dreaming. A practice night teaches the controls.

Requires Meta Quest 3 or 3S, Touch controllers and a Space Setup scan of the rooms on one floor. Co-op: two headsets, each with the game, on the same Wi-Fi.

Warning: horror and violence against zombies. From night 5, flashing light (2.5 times per second): not suitable for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Fewer flashes can be set in Settings.
