JRPG/Dragon Quest VR - Pretty Good!

This game is a love letter to Dragon Quest series and old school JRPG's. It feels much like Dragon Quest 1, but with VR flare. I do wish there was some movement customization, but the step locomotion was strangely not a problem for me, as I do suffer from motion sickness. The game could've even incorporated motion controls for attack and magic - which would've made it more immersive. The style is very retro and 8-bit inspired, which I find charming. The music and sound is great. While I haven't finished quite yet, I've read the game is quite short and localization has some misspellings - but for the price, you should definitely get this game to enjoy!

NES RGP in VR

Go back to the 80s, and remember the first time playin the confusing “at that time” RPG dragon warrior. This is doing that all over again in VR. Excellent game and fun. Absolutely worth the purchase price. Not overly grindy, and a good balance of pressure between losing and feeling overpowered. It would be cool to have smooth motion as an option, but it’s excellent as is. Hope they make a sequel.

Nostalgia!

I just discovered this game by Googling turn based rpg games for VR. It really brings me back to the old school Dragon Quest games on the original NES. Being 50yo I played all of them and this scratched that itch. It deserves more attention. If you enjoy the original Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy games from the 8 and 16bit era this has all that charm in VR. Can't wait to explore more.

First Person Dragon Quest

Like the title says. The game is heavily influenced by Dragon Quest / Warrior I. The simple story, towns, overworld, dungeons, leveling system, spell and weapon progression - all basically the same. Just in the first person. If that appeals to you, then this game is absolutely worth it for $5. Run time is 3-4 hours, depending on how much you want to level up before facing the final boss. There's very little VR style interaction, preventing me from giving 5 stars, but some of the enemy animations are rather creative with the headset.

Fantastic!

I just finished this game, and it was exactly what I was looking for, nostalgic, fun, and well crafted. While at first it may come of as simplistic, due mostly to the art style, it is in fact pretty well polished. My only complaint is that I wish there was more depth and length, but considering the low cost of the game, it seems fair. I recommend this to anyone looking for an old school RPG with a little more immersion :)
