Welcome aboard an interactive VR experience, in which your gaze and your voice influence the story. Enter the thoughts of one of the passengers and help them face a pivotal moment in their life.

CONCEPT

This four chapter interactive experience allows you to become one of four characters. Each point of view offers a different graphic treatment according to the character: oil paint, watercolor, pencil and colored pencils. In this experience, you can be each one of the four passengers who all have their own personal quest. The course of each story is affected according to what they say, where they look, and what they do with their hands. You are one deciding all of that. The characters were created by volumetrically scanning the four actors. They were then rigged and animated through motion capture.

FEATURES

  • 4 characters to embody

  • 4 unique personal stories to discover through cinema-like sequences

  • 4 lives to influence with your voice, your gaze and your gestures

  • 4 passengers designed through rigging and animating real actors

FESTIVALS

The Passengers has been officially selected in many international festivals. The VR experience won the Best Immersive Experience - Fiction award at the Canadian Screen Awards (2022) and has been finalist of the Prix Gémeaux (2022), Prix Numix (2021) and the VR Experience of the Year at the VR Awards (2021).

Great experience!

The Passengers is a new experience in VR where you experience the thoughts of 4 random passengers in a train. What's cool is that every passenger has their own view of the world. For example, the old lady will see the world in black and white, while the kid will see the world in crayon style. This experience also have flashback scenes with real actors, and you get to learn some of their strongest memory at this current moment. You barely use your hands. Most of it is coordinated by looking at someone, and you get different dialogues depending on who you look at, so it's worth multiple playthrough. There are some nice different mechanics per character, for example, you need to speak sometimes with the woman, or clean up the fog from a window with the old lady. Just little things that makes it different per passenger. It was nice seeing the perspective of everyone! My favorite was the old lady since she digged into her forgetfulness, and how she's scared to lose a strong memory that she has of someone. I love her ending too where a simple announcement from the train driver that meant a lot more to her. Check it out! The app is super cheap and a fun little experience to be part of.

A well done interactive story with heart

This had a creative approach to it. You can choose which passenger to follow. Each passenger makes up one part of the story, and you can choose them in any order and rewatch them whenever. The colour of the scene changes for each passenger, and the art style to some degree too. Each character also has a different method of interacting with the story that triggers memories in the form of live action videos. For one character you draw smiley faces, for another you speak, etc. It was a really well done story that can only be done like this in VR. Highly recommended.

From tragic to tears

At first glance, this looks bad(the game is in need of a Quest 3 version) If you actually play it through, you will understand that a lot egentlig into the games story and mechanics. It is short but well told. I played all four characters from laget to right in that order. Started underwhelmed, by the time I finished I had a tear in my eye. It great.
