This story-driven adventure follows a mystery of death and despair from reality into the surreal realms of objective memories and subjective experiences. Search the mind, solve puzzles, and unravel the dark truth in this psychological thriller.

The Signifier is a first-person tech-noir mystery adventure that blends investigation, experimental psychology, and artificial intelligence.

Explore the real and surreal worlds, become immersed in fringe psychology, solve puzzles, and find the truth as Frederick Russell, an expert in AI and psychology, and the main researcher behind an experimental deep brain scanner called the Dreamwalker. Its controversial technology allows the exploration of the recorded senses and unconscious realms of the mind. He finds himself thrust into a spiral of intrigue when asked to use his creation after the vice president of the world’s biggest tech company turns up dead in her apartment.

Great potential! Released too EARLY!

I LOVE mystery games. Games that you have to piece together little things to create a larger story. This game has a wonderful execution in terms of the "mystery". This game is very complex, eerie (but not shake in my boots-its perfect), its so unique. You can tell ALOT of energy and effort was put into the story. It is REALLLLLLYYYYY GOOOOOOODDDDD!!!! I LOVE the concept. The story. You name it. The technicalities are BAD. So so so bad. I played quite a bit, I still have a lot to go, I could not put it down. I did NOT want to put it down. However, the movement and boundaries are BAD. I was able to "deal" with it, for a large portion. But I finally could not deal anymore. It became so frequent and worse. In one dream sequence I feel into some "void" so many times and had to restart from the prior check point I had to finally stop. It began to happen every time I got too close to a wall, or when a portion of it moved. I may try it again soon, but really holding on to a fix for it. However, it is so bad it really needs a MAJOR fix. I wanted a refund but played too many hours already. Also, I am torn because I am very hopeful a MAJOR update happens soon. I want to continue, but until then I cannot. Which really stinks. I can only imagine how difficult it is to develop a VR game, but this one was released a bit too early. If it was cheaper, I would have still waited, especially based on the reviews. A smart move would be for the devs to offer players a free trial after the fix. It would be a great way to give people a taste. After that I know people will fall in love, the sales will go up, and the reviews will get much better. I will update my review once it does get a major fix. If the functions get fixed, I HIGHLY recommend this. You do not want to miss it. I really cannot wait to move forward in it. Like REALLY can NOT wait. SOO GOOD!!

Immersive

Great game so far! Truly immersive and some scenes look really good for a Quest game. The concept is super different (and a bit creepy). Some people are complaining about a bug in the mirror, it is not a bug, you just have to bring the data to the other state by placing it in your wrist first, if you don't it won't travel with you (which isn't explained so well, but devs said they would make an update with a new tutorial message to make sure everyone got it). Really interesting stuff so far

Game is broken at mirror

In the first apartment when you’re at the mirror going from subjective to objective state, the game is broken and can’t progress forward. Others are experiencing this bug too. The devs didn’t even have enough respect for us to test the game before releasing.

Nice Transference-like investigationgame

Nice implementation of the early released investigation game, conceptually similar to Ubisoft's Transference VR, but a bit less mysterious and paranormal and more tech-geek stuff. A bit buggy but still playable, worth the price for the relevant audience. VERY IMPORTANT: Game is TOTALLY UNPLAYABLE till you switch the default 'Seating' VR mode to "Standing" in the settings. This is the first thing you need to make before you start, or your character and everything in the game will jump and change in space, making the game unplayable. What a shame that after so long initial version of game is unplayable, that's the reason of mostly negative reviews I think....

Very cool, very creative, a bit buggy

I simply loved the concept. Now that we're seeing all these advancements in AI it's pretty amazing. The user experience is not the best though. Talked to the devs and they're working on a big patch.
