The City is a place of shadows, ruled by the powerful and feared by the oppressed. Its rooftops form a labyrinth above the narrow, twisting streets. The City Watch prowls relentlessly, enforcing the iron will of Baron Ulysses Northcrest, a tyrant who crushes rebellion before it can take root.

You are Magpie, a cunning thief orphaned by Northcrest’s brutality and shaped by the streets, who steals as the only means to survive. That is, until you uncover something greater: a legendary artifact holding a legacy from the past. Use immersive VR mechanics to steal, evade, and outsmart the forces controlling The City. Unravel its darkest secrets and expose a sinister conspiracy that looms over its very foundation.

Key Features:

  • A Legendary Franchise Returns: Experience the world of Thief in VR for the first time, blending classic stealth gameplay with next-gen immersion.
  • Master the Shadows: Stick to the darkness, evade patrols, and outmaneuver enemies with real-time stealth mechanics.
  • Realistic Thieving: Pickpocket guards, pry open hidden compartments, and bypass locks with tactile VR interactions.
  • Precision & Skill: Use an array of arrows and tools to distract, disable, or eliminate threats with immersive VR archery.
  • Explore The City: Climb rooftops, sneak through back alleys, and uncover secrets in a dark, steampunk-inspired world.
  • Choose Your Approach: Every heist offers multiple paths and playstyles—sneak past guards unseen or take them down from the shadows.

This game restored my faith in VR future

Thief VR has restored my faith in the future of Meta Quest Standalone games! You can tell that the developers put ALOT of work and effort into making this a polished and unique experience. I encountered game-mechanics that I never have in VR before, such as using the mic to actually blow out candles, and blow your whistle. This feature blew me away, and I think this game is up there with the likes of Batman Arkham Shadow, Ghost Town, Assassins Creed. I can't recommend this game enough! Check out my video on my YT channel :) That VR Girl

THIEF VR IS GREAT ON QUEST!

🚨SEARCH ‘GAMERTAG VR’ ON YOUTUBE FOR MY FULL REVIEW🚨 Theres 6 chapters with 5 sandbox styled levels and these levels are filled with various ways to go either obvious or hidden. Theres tons of items for you steal and you have multiple objectives to try and complete either primary or secondary and your mastery thief performance is rewarded with perk cards at the end of every mission. The multiple level approach the devs have marketed for thief is pretty real too. You can play this simply by clubbing everyone or killing them if you have enough arrows or you can try to sneak around an entire level which will easily double your play time.

Disappointed

I have 11+ years in VR gaming. Here's my review. This feels like a Developer's 1st Crack at a VR game. You can't crouch in real life. Feels like the game is locked to a camera that is only 1 set height at a time and it happens to also be your face. The bow weapon. Mastered by almost all VR games that have it. For years. Except this one you can't aim unless you oclude one controller with the other, which makes your Quest 3 start drifting the front hand because it can't see it. And the holding angle is wrong there, too. These aren't bugs, theyre poor design choices for VR. We're here to be immersed, live the experience. Unfortunately, doing normal things here doesn't work well. Again, bad design. I loved the original Thief, and I'll keep it good in my memory by not playing this until there's some updates. Personal note: im so very bored of 2D devs riding a hype train off of previous talent to push a crap VR experience. I don't know if that happened here or not, I didn't even look to see who made this. But judging by what im seeing in the game i feel obliged to bring it up.

The re-return of a legendary franchise

I love this game, loved all of its predecessors too (including 2014). I realise there might be updates coming, but my only issue currently is the Gamma of the game. I've seen some VR games can get the exposure adjusted, if we can get this as a feature it would be lovely. Otherwise it was just as I expected, preordered, in fact even got the quest 3 just for this.

Masterpiece!

Anyone who's a Thief fan has to play this. There's no way around it. For everyone else... it's a near-perfect stealth game. There are several alternative routes to the objective. The game mechanics are fluid and intuitive. The story is exciting, and it has excellent English voice acting. The only thing I can criticize about this game is the lockpicking. It's far too easy. They should have taken a page from other games where lockpicking is more challenging.
