More like Trasher

I loved Thumper and decided to give this game a shot based on the good reviews. I'll cut right to the chase--this game plays like a free web-based flash game from 10 years ago. There's nothing immersive about it--no reason for it to be in VR. It's a hollow shell mannequin of Thumper's aesthetic, which has audio queues telling you something epic is happening when nothing could be further from the truth. I really hope people see this review because this game is a pathetic cash-grab and I don't want others to feel as cheated as I do right now. Sadly I played this game for about 20 minutes and haven't picked it up in weeks. Because of this I can't return it.

Only one complaint

First off, the gameplay, visuals, and music are 5/5, if you are on the fence, just buy the game. It’s hypnotic, psychedelic, and addicting. Initially I was thinking it was too simple, but it does feel like the opposite side of the same coin in regards to Thumper. If Thumper is all about precision with very little room for error, Thrasher is all about improvisation and flow, more forgiving until you start chasing those high score. I docked a point because the sound and music are so incredible, but it feels like very muffled, like it was compressed or rendered poorly. I put on headphones expecting crisp and full spectrum audio, but it really felt like something was missing, the highs aren’t there and lows didn’t boom. I think this could easily be fixed, and I hope it does.

Another quest+ monthly game disappointme

After several months of quest+ release failures it looks like its time to cancel soon if meta can't get it together... how about some value as a trade off for our monthly payment? Maybe something that wouldn't be in the bargain bin at a dollar store?

Check it out

Like Thumper, this is a great game to sit on the couch and get completely sucked into. It’s challenging and addictive. And of course the music and atmosphere is top notch. You won’t be disappointed.

Takes time but gets really fun

I really had a hard time at first with this one and could only play for small sessions but I kept coming back and getting more comfortable with it feels very satisfying and the creature starts to just move where you think it should , it almost feels like moments of singularity. Very challenging and I recommend breaks but I think it’s a glimpse of what the future of gaming can and will be. The music and gameplay evolves very slowly but at a wonderful pace. The best hand tracking experience to date for me. Well done.
