Not for quest
This game might be good for PSVR or maybe even PCVR but it is not good on quest. I really wanted to like this but this is the first game on Quest that I have had a real negative reaction to from the very beginning. Firstly and most importantly there is no smooth motion. I cannot play with jerky movements in VR, I want smooth locomotion. This kind of jerky movement might help alleviate motion sickness in VR for some people but personally it makes it worse for me. Having to turn at 45 degree angles and not be able to face the direction I want is a definite no for me and I think this is the first game I’ve played that doesn’t have the option for smooth locomotion. Even with that, it gets worse. There is no (or very little) controller tracking. You play as a character sitting in a chair who is holding a controller in his hands. Your character uses this controller to move another character. Regardless of where you move your hands, your character will always keep his two hands on his controller. This kills immersion and I’m really surprised something like this is even allowed to exist in the oculus store. You would be better just playing with a normal console controller. I see no reason or advantage as to why this is on VR. It is essentially a flat screen game. You move a character around in 3rd person as you would in a regular 3rd person game, except that the camera angle is fixed to your character who cannot move only teleport to fixed locations on the map. Sure the voices are great if you’re a fan of Rick and morty and their style, for me, it’s hit and miss and this is a bit more of a miss than a hit.
