Realistic to a degree and great fun

I’m not usually a reviewer but I felt like this game deserves some effort on my part. I’m a Commercial pilot. I started off in light aircraft, moved on to regional turboprop aircraft and now onto the big jets. With Covid 19 I haven’t flown internationally now for 10 months. I don’t own my own private plane and can’t really afford to throw money at hiring aircraft to go and fly a circuit for fun due to being unemployed. Although this game is pretty basic and at times difficult to manipulate things such as the fuel switch and flaps - I couldn’t stop smiling for the first half an hour I played. It feels like flying. The sensations are the same, the physics are generally good. It’s far from perfect but if you are like me and needed to get that fix, that buzz - this little baby is a winner. Thank you Developers. Suggestions: - Can you tidy up the hand interaction with the smaller controls (switches and flaps) - they are a bit hit and miss. - I know this isn’t supposed to be a ‘simulation’, but some wind would make it challenging. Also some lines on the runway would make the depth perception easier to judge flare height.

A pilot's review.

I am a pilot IRL . I like this. The flying physics are legit . I wish I had Bluetooth rudder pedals . The nausea you may get when flying this is actually on par with real flying . The area of reverse command , throttle , flaps , mags , fuel , stall horn ...Pretty good. I Can do slips and skids. BUT HERE ARE THE ISSUES : You have towered airports but no PAPI lights ? ( precision approach path indicator ) no wind sock ? I get it is just a game ...Also missing are : displaced threshold, taxyways , coms , and the physics are off on the flaps. There should be an airport beacon . None of those things exist . Not even a light gun ? Also in a class Delta airspace you should have a designated pattern and PA ( pattern altitude ) in a towered field ( class Delta airspace ) you have to have some minimal things . There is no center striping either . Runways have a center line striping . I was able to do a soft field take off . And it was legit but where is the wind ? Also also also ! NO ATIS . Its bad enough that I don't have an altimeter but no ATIS ? Hows a pilot supposed to know the weather ? No wind sock No ATIS No PAPI No Com's Flaps are not right No beacon no taxyways No run up area Weather is always sunny and very little wind . Those flaps, when you engage them SHOULD create an extra lift/drag component and cause the craft to nose up . Doesn't happen . These things need to be fixed .

INTENSE!

For a cartoony, arcade type flight sim, this game is SO much fun! It really does give you a sence of flying and heights. I have played nearly ALL oculus quest launch titles, and this is the only one that gave me slight motion sickness. With that said though, it is WELL worth the $15 price tag! One of my top 5 Quest launch titles! Don't pass it up!

Good Balance of Realism and Video Game

Actual pilot here. Of course, there are some components that aren’t realistic. But, it’s one of the best flying games I’ve played. Mixed with VR, I’d call it incredible. Here are some explanations of other (valid) comments: - Runways too short — True, they’re unrealistically short. However, the ability fly slowly, extend flaps, and brake to a stop within feet of touching down mitigates this issue. - Cliffs/buildings right at the end of the runways — True, but that adds a challenge needed for a video game. Mitigated through above comment. I also agree with the request for night ops, more challenging islands, and more aircraft options, but loved the VR experience. I do hope there will be some more content in the future. But hours just flew by before I knew it. Once I got a handle of where to put my hands to activate fuel flow, engine start, etc, I had a blast. Looking around, landing on challenging runways, using rudder and it working as it does in the sky…it was bliss. No, not perfect. But for a video game, it’s wonderful.

Just plain and simple fun.

I’m still working on the Jet Glider, but this is true fun. It gives a true feel of flight. The fuel switch is a little difficult to manipulate, but otherwise, this is great. My favorite part is the balloons and target rings. It would be nice to make this a multiplayer game with competitive balloons and rings, include a flag capture at the opponent’s airfield, or evasive balloon pop where the balloon is affixed to the craft, add the risk of crashing into the opponent, When I’m bored, I plop down for about 20 minutes of flight. Nice and relaxing. The experience is enhanced in a swivel office chair. Just enough give in the chair in all directions to add a little more realism to the flight.
