ArtQuest VR is the world’s largest art museum.

"ArtQuest offers something museums often can't: the ability to quietly spend as much time as you want with a single painting, free from crowds, glass barriers, or the pressure to keep moving." — Craig Storm, UploadVR

Explore hundreds of thousands of paintings, sculptures, and artifacts from the Louvre, the Getty, the Rijksmuseum, MoMA, and hundreds of other collections. Browse by artist, movement, or museum. Return to works you love, discover artists and objects you have never encountered, and wander through centuries of art at your own pace.

What you can do:

  • View paintings, drawings, frescoes, and more. Discover works from the Mona Lisa and Girl with a Pearl Earring to Monet’s water lilies and Cézanne’s The Bathers.
  • Explore by artist, movement, or collection. Jump from Impressionism to the Dutch Golden Age to Gothic art, or browse a museum’s holdings.
  • See works at their true scale and in high resolution. Step back to see the whole composition, then lean closer to study brushwork, textures, and materials.
  • Learn about art and art history. Read labels about artists, styles, and historical context, with optional audio narration.
  • Unlock two additional museum wings. Explore sculpture, decorative arts, antiquities, and archaeology in the Sculptures and Decorative Arts wing and the Ancient Art and Archaeology wing.

v1.5.6: Skylight and UI improvements

2026年7月30日

Hi everyone, the new update today is small but adds a couple of welcome improvements: - I added a new and improved skylight! The old black grid is gone, replaced by a lovely white lattice and subtly reflective glass - I put a faint shadow behind the text on the Galleries menu buttons. This makes…

v1.5.4: Modern, Neoclassical, and Medieval Catalan sculpture

2026年7月15日

Hi everyone. ArtQuest VR progress has progressed a little slower than I had hoped with the kids out of school for summer... but it is definitely still progressing! Today's update adds several hundred new sculptures and artifacts housed in Catalan museums, including: - Girona Museum of Art -…

Worth every penny!

I bought this yesterday, the ability to sit and look at these masterpieces in the quality and resoultion it provides is the main draw. The AI voices are not great, but the links to Wiki are a nice touch. If you are studying art, (don't reference the Wiki :) but being able to see the brush strokes, paint layers in undisturbed VR is unparraled. I am not an art fan, the radio is okay, but if you are on the quest 3, just open a browser and play the music in the background, which just adds another level of immersion. I would only ask the devs continue to add new art, and is possible ability to adjust the lighting of the environment for a more relaxing feel, Superb.

Viewing world renown art from your home

Really great app to view art in high detail and at true scale. I live the ability to create my own galleries, but my favorite part is visiting the galleries created by my friends and seeing what caught their eye. There is so much art to view, I will probably never find it all on my own.

Great!

It opens up a world of art. Size it launched, they've made many improvements fixed, it's very actively maintained. I initially gave it five stars even several bugs and issues which are now fixed. With this app you can explore many museum collections at once, see paintings in life size, step close and see the brushwork, and generally spend a lot of time with an artwork. And that's incredibly valuable. Because I don't know of any other way to experience paintings at their correct size and inspect them in such a natural way. Looking at paintings on a computer can feel like Instagram, and museums are great but unless you're by yourself you've always got friends to keep up with, and usually I end up not having time to give a painting more than 120 seconds of my attention. Not to mention the security systems making it impossible to examine the paintings in detail. Then there's the fact that for every painting you can see in a museum there's loads more in storage which you will not see today. While with this app you can see many paintings currently in storage. There are many clever technical details about this app - be sure to stay with a painting for a minute and let it load in full hd, some paintings are really amazingly high res. But the antialiasing is well implemented to minimize jagged and vibrating edges. Just a super worth it experience. Some possible additions: - Sometimes I wish I could elevate up and down with large paintings. - Custom galleries, like playlists in Spotify. (Update: They added this now!) - Guessing games, like randomized galleries where your goal is to guess artist, date, genre etc ... Like In Google arts and culture. - multiplayer of course so you can view paintings with your friends

Excellent

Highly recommended for anyone who is, or thinks they might be, into art or history. I especially enjoyed using the Quest 3 to pull up a browser window alongside the gallery and look up questions about the paintings as I wandered around. The best thing this app offers, beyond what you'd get from browsing Wikimedia on a computer or phone, is the sense of actually being in a room with the art — and feeling its real scale. It's hard for a phone screen to convey what it's like to stand next to a 15-foot-wide painting. That might not seem to matter, but it really does. Outside of the artwork itself, the app's presentation is functional but plain. A bit more polish on typefaces, lighting, and atmosphere would be welcome — though the app rightly keeps the focus on the art, so this is a minor knock at most. The labels next to each piece tend to read dry and museum-like. Since it's easy to look up more context on Wikipedia or Google, this isn't a major downside. But I'd love to see the option for an enthusiastic art historian to build their own gallery — custom arrangements, custom labels — and use it to share stories about how a series of paintings related to a historical event, the trade of pigments, common motifs, what's changed over time, what's stayed the same, how a painting connected to the artist's life at the time, and so on and so forth. All in all: excellent app! Definitely worth a purchase and your time.

Huge Improvement

I've changed my rating from 1 to 4 star as the developer has been very busy with updates after many emails to resolve the issues. The app is now working largely as intended and is an excellent platform for viewing a massive art collection. There is a delay when changing galleries but to be expected given the methods used to create them. There is still room for improvement and the developer is very responsive in this respect.
