Desperately Needs Tuning
I've spent a lot of time in forklifts IRL so I was excited to try this out. The fundamentals are there, the controls are right, for brief moments I really feel like I'm in a real forklift, but the illusion disappears when I actually try to accomplish anything. Everything needs a ton of tuning, polish, and optimization. The physics are super buggy. The steering wheel is very difficult to use, they need to experiment with that more. But worst is the lift controls. The lift lever is WAY too sensitive, it shoots up and down with the slightest touch and is impossible to use with any finesse(great for launching pallets into orbit though!). The tilt control has the exact opposite problem, tilting is like in super slow motion. The shift side to side is alright. With a good amount of tuning these could easily be fixed. Maybe even make it adjustable so people can set the sensitivity as they like it. Oh and I nearly forgot, the gear selector is super difficult to grab without accidentally grabbing the steering wheel. IRL I can flip between reverse and forward quickly and fluidly, which is really a requirement for a forklift, but in this game it's painful and awkward. This game is 70% of the way there, I hope the devs are still working on this game because if they actually put in that last 30% to finish it, it could be really fun. If you're looking for a game to actually play rather than test, this just ain't it at the moment.
