Best Worlds, Worst Memories.
Updated Review (originally written in September 2025) I am updating my review from September 2025. Since then, some improvements have been made, such as the ability to share environments, which is a positive and much-needed addition. However, my core criticism at the time was very clear and remains critical: if users are not allowed to create backups, the service itself must be reliable over a span of years. That long-term reliability is the only thing that can justify preventing users from owning their own data, especially for a product positioned around capturing and preserving memories. Unfortunately, this concern has now been confirmed in the worst possible way. With the latest update, worlds were removed, and I lost captures of places that no longer exist. It did not take years for this risk to materialize. It took two months. With no backup or export options, those memories are permanently gone. This directly proves the original point: without backups, long-term persistence is not a nice-to-have—it is mandatory. Despite the impressive capture technology and recent feature improvements, this single issue completely undermines trust in the platform. Without true data ownership or strong guarantees of continuity over time, the app cannot be considered a reliable tool for preserving meaningful memories.
