Good story, unpolished mechanics

It was OK. I played on the Quest 3 and with smooth locomotion couldn't go forward/backward or turn at the same time. I had to stop what I was doing to do the other. I felt like a robot on rails and there were times I'd get stuck and it was a complete immersion breaker. That alone made me want to drop it a star, then I had to glitch one of the games (skee ball) to complete it because the ball wouldn't roll the hill. I enjoyed what I played of the story, but it isn't well polished. I ended up stopping about half way through because I wasn't that into it with the glitches. Maybe I'm spoiled because of how awesome Pierhead Arcade is as an arcade and physics. I may have rated it higher if it was half the price, but it wasn't that fun for 11.99

A fantastic escape room game!

Paranormal Detective: Escape from the 90's is an extremely fun escape room game that knows how to have a good time. One of the things I love about it is that it doesn't try to take itself too seriously! They absolutely nailed the 90's vibe and you can tell the devs just had a blast recording the bits as you progress through the puzzles. For those who haven't experienced escape rooms yet, I highly recommend this as a good introduction. If you get stuck, the optional hint system does a really good job at helping you along without blatantly giving away the answers. For future development, I'm aware the devs are looking at an Arcade Only game mode where you can just spend time playing the arcade games, with multiplayer strongly desired by the devs as well. Fingers crossed there's enough enthusiasm from players to realize this game's full potential! As it stands, it's well worth the purchase just for the single player storyline that it has right now. I can't recommend this game enough.

fun VR escape room, great for the price

I love escape rooms in real life, and this game mimics one pretty darn well. I love the idea of a 90s-arcade themed room, especially having to use some of the actual arcade games in order to complete the mission. In true escape room fashion, having several actual rooms to unlock to proceed was a nice touch. There are a couple game mechanics I wish could be improved (such as being unable to carry more than two items (one in each hand) at a time, or the inability to keep your hint system (cellphone) with you at all times. But for $12, you really can't complain about minor things like that. The ending was kind wonky and not at all in the spirit of an escape room, but I guess you just have to consider that an extra bonus in the app, and think of the final code you enter as the "real" end of the escape room experience.

Your own personal Arcade on Quest 2?

Video Review https://youtu.be/tm1wMBAQg04 Paranormal Detective: Escape from the 90's is an odd title as its a mystery kind of detective game but also your own personal arcade on your quest 2, I played it for the arcade aspect and really loved the variety of titles though I did think the games were kind of lacking the combination of them definitely made it feel fun to play around for an hour trying them out and hanging out. Fun escape room game

This is a fun escape room game that has a neat variety of puzzles and finds a good balance between easy and hard. It's certainly not perfect, but it's worth a look if you like escape room games along with some 90's nostalgia and some humor thrown in for good measure.
