Comparison with Skybox

1. Only Pigasus and Skybox are currently sole media players who render to the frame of the video file. Fortunately, I experienced both. This is a very important function. difference is whether you can see a soft video like the butter melting or road made of stone by drive car, depending on the function and not. 2. Hue adjustment function not found in Skybox but present in Pygasus. 3. I'm happy to have SMB support and Favorite features. It is also available in Skybox, but Pygasus is cheaper than Skybox and works. But when playing a file from SMB, Time head change position sometimes lacking video or video playing there when the longer it takes. I hope it will be improved. 4. You can see image files like JPG right away. It's very good! ———— 5. Unfortunately, app logo and design sophistication of the virtual movie theater may be lacking, but there are two things that are more important. First, when using the point-of-time movement function by pressing and holding the trigger, Skybox method is less cognitive burden for the audience. This is because the box-type UI, which is supposed to set the point you want to see around while maintaining the 3D effect, was a good experience. Second regret is that if the video playback default was set to 3D in the setting, screen cannot be viewed properly when an image file such as JPG is called. Therefore, there is a hassle of having to go to options and switch to 2D mode every time. Therefore, it would be nice to set the default value to 2D mode when importing image file. Even if the default value of the image is 3D mode, I want to see the correct 2D image right away when I see the JPG file. 6. It would be nice to have a variety of modes that correspond to the various angles of the 3D lens used for filming, but it would be good to proceed gradually. Before that, it would be best to automatically analyze and show whether the video is 2D or 3D. I chose Pygasus despite a few regret in comparison with Skybox.

Nice but rough edges

Well, what's not to like? Plays multiple audio and video formats/codecs as well as photo/images. The Comic Book Reader is a nice surprise. Definitely a keeper and allows me to go to the next or previous video/image without having to bring up the console menu. And Pigasus support SMB and DLNA/UNPNP so I can play videos from hardrives and not load them on to the headset. Now for the rough edges: SMB disconnects randomly. Watch a video via SMB. Exit the video, either going to the next/previous or back to the file list. Up comes the login credentials popup even though these were saved and it gives you an error when you reenter the login. Exiting and restarting the app will reconnect using the previously saved credentials. The most recent update refreshed the UI/UX. Now the menu console is cluttered with numerous icons that you have to hover over to see what they are. It takes awhile to learn what each are, especially the little used submenus. It would be better to have the legends/keys left on/visible by option. Sometimes it just quits back to the headset "home" while playing a video. Colors will be "smeared" or "solarized" at the beginning for a few seconds of some clips or when you fast forward through a clip. WMV files are prone to this as well as clips edited on a PC with AVIDemux (MP4, AVI, and WMV). Some of the controller functions in the help are cryptic: "Double pushing the trigger while selecting plays the video from the beginning" Huh? I point at a file in the file list and double click the trigger but the video resumes playing from where it left off. All in all Pigasus is rather impressive but SMB disconnects, brief "solarized" playback makes and somewhat confusing UI makes me go back to another viewer. Until I get fed up with the lack of playback controls directly from the controllers.

Very good but could be amazing

Firstly, I just wanna say thank you. This has been a God send for me being able to view my 3d photographs taken with my fujifilm real 3d w3 camera. Given that they are in .mpo format and no other player that i have tried recognises this format it is great that you do. (It is very difficult to find a photo viewer application for quest 2) I was also pleasantly surprised to find out my pictures taken with my insta evo vr camera were compatible also. The only issue I have is that when trying to play 3d video taken from my fujifilm camera it wont play it in 3d. I have played around with the settings but nothing works. I believe the files are an AVI format. Any ideas? The 3d (stereoscopic left and right) video files from my insta 360 evo vr come in pairs and i understand if your software doesnt recognise to grab the 2 to display them in for 3d playback (fair enough) but if this is something that could be done it would be awesome and I would pay more to be able to have this feature (as I'm sure others would too) Two respectful suggestions of I may - when adjusting ipd, it would be a good idea to be able to hide the menu or make it translucent so you can see the most comfortable experience without having to exit the menu and potentially readjust. Also just make scrolling through files a little slower. It can be a little hard to locate specific files as it is rather quick Lastly - congrats and thanks for reading this

MPO Support!

Finally a viewer offering what Oculus Gallery should have supported from the start, including thumbnails while browsing folders. But the biggest feature for me is MPO support, another thing OG couldn’t manage despite the number of people wanting to use their headset for viewing 3D files. Note that this works via SMB and not DLNA. Crashes a bit too often for five stars but a must have viewer for all the features. Great stuff.

No longer works with DNLA video servers

I have had this app for years as I used it on the oculus go as well. A very good app Except since the latest version of the meta quest OS - pigasus can no longer recognise the presence of any Nas drives running DNLA which means this app is now useless to me. There's nothing wrong with my DNLA servers as they are still recognised by my oculus go and all ios devices, smart tv etc. A pity.
