The Caribbean dream of every pirate is OUT NOW – Pirates VR: Jolly Roger – with beautiful lands to explore, glitterin’ gold booty you don’t have to share with anyone else…
Except for that parrot, constantly at yer side, flappin’ its beak, joking around, telling you what to do.
But somehow he makes a charming companion, as well as a weird guide, because he’ll take you through:
Stunning shores, but also dark and dangerous caves.
From vibrant jungles and chilling under palm trees, to caves you can barely make it through alive, the diversity of environments will keep you on your toes, or peg legs, or whatever a pirate has left.
Treasure hunts, but with an element of surprise.
One time, you’re joyfully rummaging through a chest, plundering all the goods, and another time you’re running for yer life, past all the shinies, yelling “Shiver me timbers!”
Unexpected meetings with not-so-friendly creatures.
Nobody said a pirate’s life is easy. It is, in fact, not. There’s a reason these swashbucklers are always wearing a cutlass and an eye patch.
Paths to pick your brain and test your agility.
A typical day: solving ancient puzzles, climbing up to that coin purse you’ve spotted from below, or diving and swimming into the seas for a sunken chest. Rum isn’t free, OK? Unless you steal it from another pirate.
The seas may be rough, but remember – you’re the captain now!

Waited patiently for this to become available, very excited for this game, I love a pirate themed game, so far I think it’s just excellent, climbing is on point and the graphics look so good on the Quest 3. PSVR players moaned about Rango, leave the parrot alone, he is my companion and not annoying…yet anyway. This is going to be a great adventure, thanks to the devs for porting this over to Quest. Update. I have now completed the game 5 chapters, some really fun missions and slightly easy puzzles, my only criticism is, I wish it was 10 chapters, there was so much more that could have been done, explore a ship, buy a sword from a dodgy pirate, overall I enjoyed my time, thanks to the dev for the key, just wanted more.

I guess my expectations were too high as I thought as a pirates game, there would at least be some ship or boat interaction but this is purely a survival game and the entire map is on an island where you’re looking for treasure. You’re accompanied by a humoursly rude parrot that guides you to the next point. However, be sure to keep it constantly in your peripjeral because once you lose it, it’s easy to get lost in the map. When it does, you can still hear it but sounds very close when actually is far away at the next point. Visually, the landscape setting is absolutely mesmerizing. Lush trees and clear blue sea. Up close, green hell quality but the general landscape is sensational. Mechanic and immersion wise, much is to be desired. When grabbing treasure, you have to click the grip button twice for it to be converted to gold. I would naturally try to put items in my backpack but you can’t grab the backpack from your shoulder like most games. It just pops up. When swimming, you don’t feel or hear like you’re swimming. Feels like more you’re just gliding along. The standard up or down motion, or joystick doesn’t adjust your climb or drop. I’ve died a few times when gripping the green moss looking spots that you’re supposed to on rocks and trees, even though physically I didn’t let go. Besides these minor bugs, this game is a pretty cool adventure! Climb rock and trees, slide down vines, encounters with leopards, and finding treasure! Fair warning, don’t click the menu button on your controllers or you restart at the closest checkpoint..

It’s a super mid game.. all these people saying the graphics are so good either have t played a VR game before or they are lying. Saw some that said the climbing is fun. It’s not. It’s the most basic climbing mechanism for any Vr game. Really just boring with blocky enviornments and basic controls

If i have to be totally honest im probably not the only one who thinks there is not enough pirate games that are actually good. But this game is the solution. The good things and bad things will be listed below good things: beautiful green areas, funny, cool, and good mechanics and story. Bad things: pretty bad voice acting, just chapter three in general, enemy health, and main character exaggerates to much. but other than that it is the best pirate vr game ever made.

A few drawbacks for me is there is still lagging in the frame rate. Also when pulling objects up into your hands is still buggy. Also the textures isn’t up to quest3 and 3s standards. This easily could be put on the quest 2 as well, meaning it’s not that advanced for it to be a quest3 and 3s title only. If they fix these things then I’ll update with 5 stars.
