Dated, boring, no character.

This game feels dated in a way that’s hard to ignore. It feels like an early gen vr game, closer to something you’d expect from PSVR1 than a modern release. The physics lack any real sense of weight or impact, which undercuts one of the most important parts of a game like this: being a ninja turtle should feel powerful and cool, but here it doesn’t. It feels like kind of a drag. Combat, the one thing i expected to be nailed flawlessly in a martial arts themed game, is shockingly plain. It feels like the original skyrim vr, where i swing my sword and it connects, but the enemy only has one animation to show this. Hit them in the leg? Their head bounces back. Hit them in the belly? Their head bounces back. This plus the lack of any in depth combat, like, say, being able to punch empty handed, leads the fighting to feel like a chore rather than a reward. Encounters are repetitive and lack depth, rarely evolving beyond basic, unengaging brawls and one of a few minigame type thi gs. This extends to the core gameplay loop, which quickly becomes predictable: you’re dropped into a semi-open map (the first two available are almost identical), sent to a handful of marked locations where you fight a few enemies, then complete one of a small set of mini-games. These mini-games, hitting targets, inputting button sequences, or rotating dials to match patterns, feel like filler meant to pad game time than meaningful gameplay. What’s most surprising, though, is the lack of personality. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are known for their distinct voices and humor, but here they all sound nearly identical, and the charm you’d expect from the franchise is entirely absent. There’s very little wit, energy, or character driving the experience, which makes everything feel oddly flat. Visually, the game is an enormous bore. Environments and character models come across as boxy and outdated, that “last-gen” feeling. After two hours, the story is minimal to the point of being forgettable, and the small bits of narrative you do get fail to engage or build momentum. Even the turtle lair is mostly decorative. While each turtle has their own room and there are props like arcade machines and training equipment, none of it is meaningfully interactive. Outside of leveling up and selecting missions, there’s little reason to spend time there, unless you want to eat pizza off the floor all day. And even the "eating" mechanic is poorly done. I've played cheaper games where characters bite an apple and it shows a bite taken out of the apple, and you can go for more. In this game, any food item just disappears as you bring it to your mouth. It's a total and complete ignorance of the concept of immersion. Imagine my surprise when I find a hat, put it up on my head, then look in a mirror and see thst it is not there. Where did it go? What's the point of having a hat as an item if it doesn't appear on the model? In addition to all this, I encountered a game breaking bug early on where I was meant to kill 4 enemies, but only 3 ever spawned, locking me into a restart with no other options. How many times is that going to happen? The game feels like a missed opportunity in many ways. It has the foundation of something that could have been fun, but the lack of polish, personality, and engaging mechanics leaves it feeling dry and outdated. This game is not worth $25. At just under two hours of play time, I've had my fill of it already.

QUEST ACHIEVEMENTS!

Just wow! We will be spending our nights hunting Quest Achievements with TMNT. The gameplay is extremely fun - climbing and jumping from rooftops to land on the enemies below, helping citizens in the city, using nunchucks in VR 🤯 We appreciate the inclusion of Quest Achievements and look forward to patrolling the city tonight!

Easily a day one purchase as a TMNT fan!

A VR TMNT game has been long overdue for vr! There will be those that will say the visual isn’t the best, but I actually think it’s great cuz it fits the comic style TMNT artwork. Each turtle has their lore accurate unique personalities and weapons, the music matches the vibe, and it’s so fun parkouring on top of the buildings in the city! Will say Michael Angelo’s weapon seems the most OP cuz the combo damage achieved so easily. Highly recommend for any TMNT fan and ofc, any action adventure game fanatics!

A fan or not, it’s sick!

It’s fricking awesome! I haven’t really watched TMNT since I was just a kid, but this game is great! The movement is smooth, fighting feels nice and visuals are pleasing! I definitely recommend this game even if you’re not a huge TMNT fan!;)
