Oh my gosh the movement

This is one of the first VR games with a grappling-hook mechanic that I just immediately understood. The enemy types feeling a little samey after a while is more than made up for by the frantic action and fast movement, facilitated by small dashes, wall sliding, and a grappling hook that's so fun and intuitive that I forgot there's also a jump button. More bonuses include left-handed control options just in time for the 1.0 release, leaderboards for fixed-seed runs, and decent performance in this native Quest version. So far my only real complaint at the time of writings is the default weapon only firing with trigger presses, which gets exhausting after a while. Marrow Marrow is an absolute delight to play in short bursts, with standard runs typically not lasting much more than half an hour.

I want more… and I know I shouldn’t

This is an adrenaline infused power trip beyond comprehension, that being said I only have a singular issue and that’s with the stand alone version, it crashes intermittently to my hub menu and as I converse with other streamers we all had the same issue, bar that I want more… more legs more enemies more upgrades more weapons, you guys have hit the nail on the head, please don’t stop working on this yet…. You can play with ya ball later, more marrow more marrow!!!

MUST-BUY: The "Doom Eternal" of VR!

If you’re looking for a lazy sit-down experience, look elsewhere.Marrow Marrow is the best high-octane, sweat-inducing Meta Quest masterpiece that finally proves what VR shooters are capable of when they stop trying to be "realistic" and start being pure fun. - Relentless Blasting: Think Doom Eternal levels of aggression. The action is so intense that I was literally dripping sweat after just 30 minutes. It’s a full-body workout disguised as a top-tier arena shooter. - Instant Action: No long cut-scenes. You’re in the thick of it immediately. It’s the perfect "quick VR-fix" when you want massive action right now. - The Right Style & Atmosphere: The graphics are delightfully weird and creative. It has a distinct, trippy atmosphere that sets it apart from generic military shooters or overly cartoonish games. The enemy designs are super imaginative. - Total Immersion: Marrow Marrow feels VR, isn’t just a flatscreen port as seen so often in VR today. The verticality is insane. Fluently jumping between skyscrapers and air-dashing like a maniac. You feel every bit of the height and speed. - Fluid Movement: The parkour mechanics feel incredibly natural. It’s rare to find a game that handles high-speed movement this smoothly without making it feel clunky. Bottom Line: If you have the "VR legs" for it, just buy this game. It’s a pure adrenaline shot, a visual trip, and easily one of the most responsive shooters on the Quest. My favorite discovery this year!

Beautiful fever dream, violent vibrance.

Update. I'm keeping it. and you should get it. What a gloriously vibrant joyously violent beautiful fever dream this is. I've been into vr for years and avidly so usually at least finding time each week. I do have good vr legs but for the high paced movement and how stimulating this game is it's downright impressive how comfortable I felt. Oh my goodness the sound design too. The creatures of your nightmares infest your ears in the best way. You are surrounded by horror soundscape of the creatures scuttling around you, but the information is well placed, not overwhelming. Then you remember you are the horror to blast them into oblivion. Probably one of the best vr experiences I've had on a home console. 5 stars. easy. and to the dev(s) Congratulations. You clearly had a vision and made it happen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Still within the 2 hr refund window so first impressions only after my first run. Then fun factor hits hard the movement is fun the haptic feedback immersive. Acid wash art style looks better in VR than the trailer makes it seem. Seems like there's a good deal of fun unlocks. Music good but not too much. Only con so far is the voice- the retro sound is GRATING. Beyond annoying it is a big turn off. The sound effects get a pass but I turned the volume down on the voice. I wish there was a way to have the style of sound design (at least on the robotic voice) changed. Will update here if I keep or refund. Overall recommend for first impressions only.

Update: HEY META!!! Why aren't you promoting games like this?! Are you blind? Have you no fun left in your dark empty soul? This game should be getting tons of reviews by now, and it likely would have back when Oculus ran the show. I do know Meta's not listening but I just had to yell anyway. They've abandoned the store and the good games struggle to be seen in a never ending flood of crap. Meta's gotta start curating the store again like Oculus used to if they want the platform to thrive. Toss out the Gorilla Tag clones and other assorted trash that's burying the innovative games like this. I'm tired of going dumpster diving through the store desperately looking for something that shouldn't have been tossed. Original Review: There's a bit of a learning curve but after spending a few minutes in it I was having a great time even though I have no skills yet. Everything about it is kinda strange, funny, and disturbing all at the same time. The retro graphics are wild and beautifully animated. The sound effects match the madness of the visuals perfectly. This is a tough game to describe, but if the trailer appeals to you don't think about it too much and just click the "purchase" button and be happy. 😁
